At HIGHXTAR.<\/strong> we celebrate the very special collaboration between DUKI and Mahou<\/a> in our eighth Digital Cover featuring the Argentinian superstar<\/strong>. The singer and songwriter has redefined the music of our generation, going from competing in cockfights to becoming one of the leading exponents of the global urban genre..<\/p>\n\n\n\n


After announcing their amazing partnership earlier this week, the pair unveil the next step in their exciting journey: \u2018La Diabla\u2019<\/strong>. It is a beer designed by DUKI<\/strong> himself and inspired by his own codes, his Angel-Devil duality, his way of talking and calling his friends and fans. Its aroma is fresh, with a strong mango character, hints of apricot and pineapple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that’s not all: Mahou<\/a><\/strong> and DUKI<\/strong> are proposing a fun game in which one out of every 1000 cans contains a secret component: the hot chilli<\/strong>. It also includes an associated surprise prize that will be revealed at a later date. As a fun fact, the can includes a metallic effect and glow-in-the-dark details as well as a logo in the form of an integrated sticker that can be reused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Echoing their respective communities and familiar personalities, both the Madrid beer brand and the Argentinean artist, we caught up with DUKI<\/strong> to talk about the creative process behind \u2018La Diabla\u2019<\/a><\/strong>, in which situations he activates his #ModoDiablo<\/strong><\/a>, who he would share his beer with, which are his reference bars in Madrid and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HIGHXTAR (<\/strong>H<\/strong><\/mark>) \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0How did the collaboration between Mahou<\/a> and DUKI come about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DUKI (D<\/mark>) \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>The collaboration between Mahou<\/a> and DUKI, I think, arises from looking for the bridge and the connection between two generations, the younger public, all this that I have ingrained, the fresh, the new, the young, contrasting with Mahou, which is already a brand of avant-garde beer. I think it’s a little bit like looking for that union and achieving that generational mix between what would be Mahou<\/a>, a beer that is always one step ahead and with a background of many years, and what would be DUKI, a new talent that is growing and that is accompanied by all these young people who are hungry to eat up the world.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/strong>What has been your contribution to the creative process?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D<\/mark><\/b><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0More than anything I wanted it to have a bit of my identity and who better than me to define and mark a bit of the features that define me and highlight me, so I feel that I was looking for this mix between Mahou<\/a> and DUKI without Mahou<\/a> losing its image and getting closer to Duki and Duki not losing its image by being close to Mahou. My contribution was to maintain my identity and see how I could combine it with the brand.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0What makes this beer unique?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D<\/mark><\/b><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0What makes it unique was Mahou<\/a>‘s ability to take a risk and trust me as an ambassador for this beer. This beer has the essence of DUKI. My essence is unique, different from all the other beers Mahou<\/a> has been making. What makes this beer unique is that it has my essence, it has my image.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Why did you decide to call it \u2018La Diabla\u2019?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D<\/mark><\/b><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0We decided to call it \u2018La Diabla\u2019 more than anything else, thinking about how you feel when you drink it, the sensation it gives you. It’s a bit based on taste and also related to the use I make of the duality of angels, devils and devils; it’s a word I’ve used a lot as a reference to some woman, some girl I’ve written to or thought about.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/strong>In which situations do you activate your #ModoDiablo?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D<\/mark><\/b><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark> \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0There are several different #ModoDiablo situations. It goes from fury to anger, sometimes it’s related to taking certain liberties, sometimes it’s related to not taking things to heart (calmer), to being you, to bringing out your real devil mode. People also relate the devil mode to the bad or to the fact that there are things that you shouldn’t show because other people will think it’s wrong. The devil mode is that, to show yourself as you are, how you feel, what you really want to do.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/strong>\u00a01 in 1,000 Diablas is spicy – do you think everyone could finish it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D<\/mark><\/b><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>I haven’t had the honour of having one of the spicy ones yet, I would have to, I don’t really know what the level of spiciness is, I think it’s somewhat sustainable and I think it’s made to finish it, but maybe we get the surprise that it’s so spicy that it’s impossible to finish it and it’s literally setting oneself on fire.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

D<\/mark><\/b><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>Madrid is a city that I like very much, where all dreams come true and live together in the same place. Concentration of energy, it has something very nice about the duality of day and night, Madrid during the day has movement, everything is full and sometimes at night, on a Tuesday, you find it completely empty and it’s a totally different panorama. Madrid is synonymous with dreams, energy and movement.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/strong> What are your favourite bars in Madrid?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D<\/mark><\/b><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/mark> \u2013<\/b>\u00a0<\/em>My favourite bars in the city of Madrid are: Casa Quique, I send a big kiss to the owner who is a friend of ours, and Maneros.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
