For these new creations, the talented Irish was inspired by dance and the baroque extravagance of stage costumes. Breaking codes and stereotypes, she draws inspiration from historical costumes and feeds her collections with precise references to their fabrics, details and charm: <strong>&#8220;I like the historical costume for its refined ornaments, but also because in the past, clothes pointed to one&#8217;s position in society,&#8221;<\/strong> she says. <strong>&#8220;As such, uniforms interest me as much as real suits.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-125899\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-moncler-simone-rocha-ss-20-9.jpg\" alt=\"Moncler x Simone Rocha\" width=\"1280\" height=\"785\" srcset=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-moncler-simone-rocha-ss-20-9.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-moncler-simone-rocha-ss-20-9-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-moncler-simone-rocha-ss-20-9-1024x628.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-moncler-simone-rocha-ss-20-9-768x471.jpg 768w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-moncler-simone-rocha-ss-20-9-973x597.jpg 973w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-moncler-simone-rocha-ss-20-9-508x312.jpg 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Influenced by the few years the designer spent working in sculpture<\/strong> at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, her uncompromising silhouettes explore large volumes and asymmetries, and revise the codes of femininity &#8211; flowers, pearls, lace, brocades &#8211; adorned with strangeness. This sharp and contemporary creativity made Simone Rocha an ideal candidate for the <a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/moncler-consolidates-a-new-brand-concept-moncler-genius\/?lang=en\"><strong>Moncler Genius<\/strong><\/a> project. This season, in a collection inspired by the world of dance, she mixes tulle &#8211; characteristic of the dancers&#8217; tutus &#8211; with the nylon of the Italian brand known for its feathers. Flower embroideries, ruffles and other very &#8220;feminine&#8221; decorative elements are thus applied to functional pieces, even in the slippers.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-2' class='gallery \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>For this occasion, Simone Rocha is inspired by the baroque extravagance of the stage costumes. <strong>&#8220;I thought about movement, dance, femininity, the fantasy of clothes, and then I asked myself how to question these notions to make them fit in with Moncler&#8217;s codes,&#8221;<\/strong> she explains. <strong>&#8220;To do this, I looked at Federico Fellini&#8217;s work, as well as at the operas and classical ballets, focusing especially on theatricality, movement and costumes. I called photographer and director Petra Collins to put this collection on stage. We worked with models and dancers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"4 MONCLER SIMONE ROCHA - MONCLERGENIUS Collection 2020\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tfZZmekn6Bg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the video, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moncler.com\/gb\/genius\/4-moncler-simone-rocha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Simone Rocha<\/strong><\/a> reflected on female norms and codes, recalling her own experience as a dancer&#8217;s apprentice: &#8220;<strong>The collection embodies my absolute nightmare, it is both beautiful and grotesque. I grew up practicing dance, and it influenced me a lot, both positively and negatively. I wanted to tell this story: I spent part of my adolescence in front of a mirror, repeating movements that I could never perform perfectly.
