The reason? A raincoat. Rains, the firm founded in 2012 by Philip Lotko and Daniel Brix Hesselager, filed a lawsuit against Zara in April 2017, alleging that Zara had copied two of the firm&#8217;s raincoat designs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-127241\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-2.png\" alt=\"Rains\" width=\"1000\" height=\"721\" srcset=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-2.png 1000w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-2-300x216.png 300w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-2-768x554.png 768w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-2-973x702.png 973w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-2-508x366.png 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rains said in his complaint that he learned that from 2015 and until at least the spring of 2017, <strong>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/zara-vogue-and-cfda-joining-forces-towards-sustainability\/?lang=en\">Zara<\/a> has sold and continues to sell and market these jackets&#8221;<\/strong> that violate the popular styles &#8220;Long Jacket&#8221; and &#8220;Parka&#8221; by Rains, of 125 euros, for a fraction of the original price. Despite trying to resolve the matter between them, Rains said that Inditex refused to meet with its lawyer, so the brand had no choice but to <strong>initiate this case to &#8220;put an end to these injustices&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;We don&#8217;t think there can be any doubt about Zara&#8217;s intention in this case,&#8221;<\/strong> said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rains.com\/collections\/waterproof-rain-jackets?gclid=CjwKCAjw5Ij2BRBdEiwA0Frc9YC1SbNX9MWDGvaozgnqmDM5jvo2VKuAB5jAifbCWnWr5uTdk3cGuBoC4YcQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Rains<\/strong><\/a> co-founder Daniel Brix Hesselager.<strong> &#8220;They have produced identical products and therefore benefited from our position and increased sales.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-127239\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-1.jpg\" alt=\"Rains\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-rains-gana-batalla-legal-zara-1-508x338.jpg 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally, Zara has lost the battle for the raincoat.
