Until today, these media personalities have become the focus of major firms to promote their products through advertising strategies. Only last year the brands invested more than 8 million dollars in influencer marketing. However, now, due to the coronavirus crisis, the situation could change. The budgets for influencer marketing were the first to be reduced. In April, sponsored content on <strong>Instagram fell by 85%<\/strong>. Similarly, the price of paid publications <strong>fell by up to 30%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Let us now recall the agreements recently signed on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/cfda-and-bfc-demand-slower-pace-for-fashion-industry\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the future of the fashion industry<\/a><\/strong>. There is no doubt that the current crisis is changing the economic model on which most companies were based. If in the past they devoted a large part of their capital to advertising and visibility on networks, they are now turning to new strategies. This implies new, <strong>more responsible and sustainable forms of consumption<\/strong>. Far from it are the contracts of thousands of dollars for a publication in Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>&#8220;normal times&#8221;<\/strong> what companies paid for was <strong>visibility, status and reputation with their brand and customers<\/strong>. Now the situation is reversed.<\/p>\n<h2>New strategies and influencers 2.0<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>new lifestyle<\/strong> caused by the pandemic has generated new and lucrative business strategies for brands and the fashion industry. The new normality <strong>brings with it new working models<\/strong>. This is the case of the <strong>Jacquemus At Home campaign<\/strong>, carried out through <strong>FaceTime<\/strong> and practically without costs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-128848\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/influencers-bella5.jpg\" alt=\"influencers\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/influencers-bella5.jpg 800w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/influencers-bella5-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/influencers-bella5-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/influencers-bella5-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/influencers-bella5-508x762.jpg 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <strong>Marc Jacobs<\/strong> has chosen to involve his employees in advertising campaigns on social networks. Thus, we have been able to see how the team works during the pandemic. <strong>Ganni<\/strong> has also followed a similar strategy. Basically, the brand has transformed its entire team into <strong>Ganni&#8217;s new image<\/strong>. These <strong>2.0 influencers<\/strong> are certainly more authentic because of the direct relationship with the brand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/marcjacobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-128867\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers-mid.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"575\" height=\"847\" srcset=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers-mid.png 575w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers-mid-204x300.png 204w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers-mid-508x748.png 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 575px) 100vw, 575px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One brand that has never hired influencers is <strong>Glossier<\/strong>. During store closures, the firm encouraged its employees <strong>to become the face of its Instagram profile<\/strong>. This initiative was incredibly successful in <strong>China<\/strong> where <strong>InTime<\/strong> store workers joined the cause. In about an hour, the store sold more than 27,000 products, according to a report by <strong>Fung Business Intelligence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>New horizons<\/h2>\n<p>Confinement has certainly opened up new horizons for influencers. It is increasingly common (especially these months we have been at home) to see how they <strong>diversify their business<\/strong>. Thus, collaborations with different brands, <strong>not necessarily from the fashion worl<\/strong>d, have increased.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/leandramcohen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-128865\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"565\" height=\"890\" srcset=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers.png 565w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers-190x300.png 190w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/highxtar-fin-de-los-influencers-508x800.png 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 565px) 100vw, 565px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although the end of the influencers still seems far away, <strong>this crisis is accelerating their decline<\/strong>. It is in their hands to reinvent themselves and prove themselves indispensable to the industry. Otherwise, <strong>their existence will perish<\/strong>. Little by little we are all moving away from the idea of <strong>a perfect feed, from discount codes and crappy, banal junk food promotions<\/strong>. We don&#8217;t care if any influencer has sponsored the latest LV bag <strong>as much as the bag design<\/strong>. Now we are looking for <strong>a commitment to the firm, to feel involved and to see that what they offer really fits with us and our tastes<\/strong>.
