Last Monday the fashion brand defended that the logo was never copyrighted.\u00a0 <strong>Mistakes in Nirvana&#8217;s copyright register<\/strong> meant that Marc Jacobs could legally use the smiling face in one of his collections. He has even asked for a <strong>summary judgment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The problem began when Nirvana<a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/find-out-about-the-dispute-between-nirvana-and-marc-jacobs\/?lang=en\"><strong> first sued Marc Jacobs in 2018<\/strong><\/a> for copyright infringement. A sweatshirt and T-shirt from the fashion label&#8217;s &#8220;Bootleg Redux Grunge&#8221; collection bore a logo with a smiley face similar to that of the rock band. The Nirvana brand considered this act as plagiarism.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, <strong>Marc Jacobs<\/strong> has defended that <strong>Kurt Cobain didn&#8217;t design the logo<\/strong> as Nirvana allegedly claims. Nor did the designer of several album covers <strong>Fisher<\/strong>, who these days took credit for the iconic smiley. Even the founders of the band have testified that<strong> they were not aware of the origin<\/strong> of the logo or its author.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/highxtar-marc-jacobs-y-nirvana-los-enfrentamientos-siguen-2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marcjacobs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Marc Jacobs<\/strong><\/a> has admitted that he was inspired by Nirvana in the creation of the collection.
