Due to the restrictions imposed by confinement in France, Chanel has decided to hold its next M\u00e9tiers d’Art show behind closed doors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0M\u00e9tiers d’Art<\/strong><\/a> is the French term that refers to the heritage of traditional “savoir-faire”<\/strong>, which has been constantly reinvented. The professional transforms the material to produce unique or limited edition creations. Since 2002, large workshops have joined the Maison Chanel<\/strong> as part of Maisons d’Art: Lemari\u00e9 (feather duster<\/strong>, 1880), Causse (glove box<\/strong>, 1892), Massaro (boot maker<\/strong>, 1894), Barrie (mallero<\/strong>, 1903), Lesage (embroiderer<\/strong>, 1903), Desrues (bisutero<\/strong>, 1929), Maison Michel (couturier<\/strong>, 1936)…<\/p>\n

The firm planned to hold the parade on December 1 at the iconic Ch\u00e2teau de Chenonceau, a Loire Valley castle.<\/h2>\n

Chanel’s M\u00e9tiers d’Art collection is the last big show of the year<\/strong>, as well as one of the most anticipated and spectacular fashion events on the annual fashion calendar.<\/p>\n

The house explained in a statement: “Chanel will present its M\u00e9tiers d’Art 2020\/21 collection with a real fashion show<\/strong> to be shot on December 1, 2020<\/strong> at the Ch\u00e2teau de Chenonceau. It will be revealed to the public on December 3rd at 7pm Paris time<\/strong> (CET) on Chanel.com and Chanel social networks.<\/strong><\/a> However, due to containment measures and restrictions on public gatherings in France, the show will be held without the attendance of guests. “<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the second M\u00e9tiers d’Art collection by Virginie Viard,<\/strong> the house’s creative director. Successor to Karl Lagerfeld.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n
