Yahoo! Answers closes after 16 years on the internet. The community-driven question and answer platform has been forced to disappear from the virtual context as it has been relegated to a practically non-existent level.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Yahoo!<\/p>\n

The forum launched in 2005<\/strong> or the oldest question-and-answer platform on the web will turn off its blue light for good on 4 May<\/strong>. In a statement, the company explained part of the reasons for its closure:<\/p>\n

“While Yahoo Answers was once a key part of Yahoo’s products and services, it has become less popular over the years as our members’ needs have changed. As a result, we have decided to shift our resources away from Yahoo! Answers to focus on products that better serve our members and deliver on Yahoo’s promise to provide trusted, premium content.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Another reason for the disappearance of Yahoo Answers has been a large number of competitors<\/strong> such as Google<\/strong><\/a>, with its own question and answer section, as well as others such as Quora<\/strong>. Yahoo<\/strong><\/a> plans to close the platform completely on 4 May, although users will have until 30 June to download archived content<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
