The session, organised by American photographer Spencer Tunick, aims to raise awareness of the shrinking Dead Sea.<\/p>\n<p>The 54-year-old artist has already photographed the body of water twice, each time making nude art installations to portray the sea&#8217;s <em><strong>&#8220;ecological disaster&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>. <em><strong>&#8220;I&#8217;m here to raise awareness about the receding waters of the Dead Sea,&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> Tunick said during the photo shoot via CNN.<\/p>\n<p>Although some conservative lawmakers in Israel have opposed Tunick&#8217;s projects, Nisan Ben Hamo &#8211; the mayor of Arad, a neighbour of the Dead Sea &#8211; hopes the project will mark Arad as <em><strong>&#8220;a liberal city&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>, attracting new visitors and raising money for a new Dead Sea museum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Organised by American photographer Spencer Tunick, the art installation aims to raise awareness of the falling Dead Sea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":226126,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[599,891],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-226128","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-art-en","category-must-read-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin  -
