This edition encourages the use of creativity to improve the community after a year and a half of separation and &#8220;neglected&#8221; spaces. In this way, we all contribute a grain of sand from the individual level, to corporate well-being. The goal is to invite fans to participate in local and digital activations that help build vibrant, inclusive and rejuvenated public spaces through art and culture.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;Research shows that art and creative expression not only benefit an individual&#8217;s academic, physical and mental well-being, but uplift and improve entire communities; especially when shared in public spaces,&#8221;<\/strong> <\/em>says <strong>Doug Palladini<\/strong>, president of the <strong>Vans Global<\/strong> brand. <em><strong>&#8220;Many of our local communities and public spaces have been somewhat neglected since March 2020. As advocates for the power of creativity, we are encouraging Vans fans to join us this Vans Checkboard Day 2021 to be part of activities and initiatives that show how creativity truly revitalizes our communities.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>There are multiple ways to celebrate <strong>Vans Checkerboard Day<\/strong> this 18 November. Choose the one that suits you best:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DIGITAL:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vans.eu\/checkerboardday.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Vans.eu\/checkerboardday<\/strong><\/a> will serve as an action directory in collaboration with \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dosomething.org\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>DoSomething.org<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for fans to participate in a variety of digital activations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>REDES SOCIALES<\/strong>: el <a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/la-gente-pasa-mas-tiempo-en-tiktok-que-en-youtube\/\"><strong>TikTok<\/strong><\/a> Challenge <strong>#VansCheckerboardDay<\/strong> compartir\u00e1 proyectos comunitarios inspiradores, formas de lucir el estampado checkerboard y consejos para unirse a la celebraci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de los embajadores de<strong> Vans<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SOCIAL NETWORKS<\/strong>: The<strong> #VansCheckerboardDay<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/la-gente-pasa-mas-tiempo-en-tiktok-que-en-youtube\/?lang=en\">TikTok<\/a> <\/strong>Challenge will share inspiring community projects, ways to wear checkerboard print and tips on how to join the celebration through <strong>Vans<\/strong> ambassadors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DONATIONS:<\/strong> In addition to the $1 million in support of charities, fans around the world will also have the opportunity to support charities directly. They can do so through the <strong>Vans Family<\/strong> app by donating loyalty points in exchange for a monetary donation. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to <strong>The Vans Checkerboard Fund at Tides Foundation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>En <strong>Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>, se realizar\u00e1n actividades presenciales en tres puntos estrat\u00e9gicos de la pen\u00ednsula vinculados al arte y al skate.\u00a0En\u00a0<strong>Barcelona<\/strong>, la acci\u00f3n tendr\u00e1 lugar a partir de las 16h en el <strong>Picnic DIY<\/strong> (Carrer de Carmen Amaya, 16) con la colaboraci\u00f3n de la escuela de skate <strong>Al Carrer<\/strong>. Los fans podr\u00e1n hacer construcciones en el skatepark para revitalizarlo y asistir a workshops de reparaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, el artista <strong>Iv\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez Daba<\/strong> har\u00e1 un live painting. En Madrid se celebrar\u00e1 en el skatepark <strong>Escombro DIY<\/strong> (Av. de los Poblados, 15) y las actividades comenzar\u00e1n a las 15h. Skate, comunidad, uni\u00f3n y el arte de<strong> Andrea Pancaldi<\/strong> en directo. Por \u00faltimo, en<strong> Bilbao<\/strong>, la escuela de skate<strong> Guretxoko<\/strong> (Deustuibarra, 70, D Bajo) acoger\u00e1 diversas actividades como una\u00a0<em>jam session<\/em><em>;\u00a0<\/em>talleres creativos de customizaci\u00f3n de camisetas y de tablas junto a la asociaci\u00f3n deportiva <strong>EGBA<\/strong> para personas en peligro de exclusi\u00f3n social y <strong>Haszten Tirol<\/strong>, que impulsa la iniciaci\u00f3n deportiva de ni\u00f1os con diversidad funcional. Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n colaboran con la escuela de arte del barrio, <strong>Kunsthal<\/strong>, realizando un mural conjunto y as\u00ed ayudar a revitalizar la zona.<\/li>\n<li>In<strong> Spain<\/strong>, face-to-face activities will take place in three strategic points of the peninsula linked to art and skateboarding.\u00a0In <strong>Barcelona<\/strong>, the action will take place from 4pm at <strong>Picnic DIY<\/strong> (Carrer de Carmen Amaya, 16) with the collaboration of the<strong> Al Carrer<\/strong> skate school. Fans will be able to make constructions in the skatepark to revitalize it and attend repair workshops. In addition, artist <strong>Iv\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez Daba<\/strong> will do a live painting. In addition, they also collaborate with the neighbourhood art school, <strong>Kunsthal<\/strong>, creating a joint mural and thus helping to revitalise the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As the brand&#8217;s largest philanthropic initiative,<strong> Vans<\/strong> will support sixteen charities around the world this year. The goal is to share the mission of revitalising public spaces through art, sport, culture and social impact programming by collectively donating $1 million.
