The inaugural edition will feature over 70 shows including performances by <strong>Arca<\/strong>, <strong>Bicep<\/strong>, <strong>Thundercat<\/strong>, <strong>Leon Vynehall<\/strong>, <strong>Polo &amp; Pan<\/strong> and <strong>DJ Nigga Fox<\/strong>; and DJ sets by <strong>The Blaze<\/strong>, <strong>Charlotte de Witte<\/strong>, <strong>Nina Kraviz<\/strong>, <strong>Richie Hawtin<\/strong>, <strong>Honey Dijon<\/strong>, <strong>Dixon<\/strong> and <strong>N\u00eddia<\/strong>, among many others.<\/p>\n<p>For three days in April, <strong>S\u00f3nar Lisboa 2022 <\/strong>will introduce the public to the charms of the Portuguese capital, with a lineup spread across different venues, with formats and capacities adapted to each location. In line with <strong>S\u00f3nar<\/strong>&#8216;s commitment to offer a diverse, representative and high-quality vision of local and global sounds, the festival features a programme packed with artists from around the world, as well as from the vibrant Portuguese scene.<\/p>\n<p>The festival features dozens of emerging talents and global stars including <strong>Arca<\/strong>,<strong> The April<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>S\u00f3nar by Day<\/strong> activities will kick off on <strong>Friday 8 April<\/strong> at the <strong>Hub Criativo<\/strong> <strong>do Beato<\/strong>, located in the<strong> F\u00e1brica do P\u00e3o de Factory Lisboa<\/strong>. A full programme of talks, workshops, debates, demos, immersive experiences and exhibitions will take place there, as well as meetings between professionals and the general public. The conferences will explore intersections between art and creativity, between technology and research, and between music and science; with <strong>Our<\/strong> <strong>Planet<\/strong> and <strong>Humanity<\/strong> as the key themes. Over three days, the programme will use virtual reality (VR), artificial inteligente (IA) and visual arts to explore the topic of sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April<\/strong>, the musical programme of<strong> S\u00f3nar by<\/strong> <strong>Day<\/strong> will take over the <strong>Pavilh\u00e3o Carlos Lopes<\/strong>. On Saturday, the French-touch house sound of <strong>The Blaze (DJ)<\/strong>; <strong>Honey Dijon<\/strong>&#8216;s buoyant yet potent mix of disco, house and techno; and a live performance by Ecuadorian producer<strong> Nicola Cruz<\/strong> taking in sounds from across the world, will take centre stage. On Sunday, <strong>S\u00f3nar<\/strong> <strong>Lisboa<\/strong> will dance to the rhythm of 90s-style breaks &#8211; with a hint of UK garage &#8211; during <strong>Overmono&#8217;s DJ set<\/strong>, and groove to <strong>Jayda G<\/strong>&#8216;s fusion of Chicago-house and lo-fi glamour, plus a hotly anticipated set of pop-scented sampletronica from French duo<strong> Polo &amp; Pan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Sonar by Night &#8211; Friday 8th &amp; Saturday April 9th<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>S\u00f3nar by Night will extend its musical program between Friday and Saturday, both at the <strong>Pavilh\u00e3o Carlos Lopes\u00a0<\/strong>and at the <strong>Coliseu dos Recreios<\/strong> and <strong>Centro dos Congressos de Lisboa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The night of <strong>Friday, April 8th<\/strong> will feature high quality live performances, including the revolutionary Venezuelan artist <strong>Arca<\/strong>, making her debut in Lisboa to present her highly acclaimed quartet of recently released albums; cult Detroit producer <strong>Stingray 313<\/strong> or Los Angeles multi-instrumentalist <strong>Thundercat<\/strong>. Top flight club music will be represented by a host of undisputed modern icons, such as <strong>Charlotte de Witte<\/strong> and<strong> Dixon<\/strong>, as well as legends of the scene who continue to break new ground today, like <strong>Richie Hawtin<\/strong>. Other names who are heating up, such as Madrid&#8217;s <strong>H\u00e9ctor Oaks<\/strong>, or adventurous DJs like<strong> DJ<\/strong> <strong>Nigga Fox<\/strong>, <strong>BLEID<\/strong> and <strong>N\u00eddia<\/strong>, representing the most forward-thinking sounds of the Portuguese underground, will also man the booth.<\/p>\n<p>Eclecticism takes over <strong>S\u00f3nar Lisboa<\/strong> on <strong>Saturday 9th April<\/strong>. Northern Ireland&#8217;s <strong>Matt McBriar<\/strong> and <strong>Andy Ferguson<\/strong> will present their latest album Isles live, showing why <strong>Bicep<\/strong> are one of the biggest names in contemporary electronic music.
