The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today released the list of nominees to win cinema’s most coveted award. We will meet the lucky ones on 8 March at the 94th Oscars, which will take place at the iconic Dolby Theatre<\/a> in Los Angeles. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Oscars\"<\/p>\n

Among the 23 categories there are several Spaniards who could take home the golden statuette. Javier Bardem for “Ser los Ricardo”, Pen\u00e9lope Cruz and Alberto Iglesias for director Pedro Almod\u00f3var’s “Parallel Mothers”. And finally, Alberto Mielgo and Leo S\u00e1nchez for the animated short film “El limpiaparabrisas”.<\/p>\n

The film with the most nominations in this 2022 edition is “The Power of the Dog” starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The film by filmmaker Jane Campion reached viewers via the streaming platform Netflix last November.<\/p>\n

\"Oscars\"<\/p>\n

From the 17th to the 22nd, almost 9,500 industry professionals will have the difficult decision of choosing who will finally win the award. As a curiosity, Sony submitted its on-screen hit “Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/strong><\/a>” to all possible categories; it has become one of the highest grossing films in history but could only enter “Best Special Effects”.<\/p>\n
