The six aspiring designers from across the UK, <strong>Tianan Ding<\/strong>; <strong>Celine Kreis<\/strong>; <strong>Nicole Vernon<\/strong>; <strong>Porkuaa Ansere<\/strong>; <strong>Niran Nair<\/strong> and <strong>Nigel Sununguro<\/strong> <strong>Matambo<\/strong>, will begin their participation in the programme, led by industry-expert mentors later this month.<\/p>\n<p>The programme features an intensive ten-week educational curriculum that is aimed at young creatives from the black and minority ethnic communities who wish to start their careers in the world of fashion, streetwear and sportswear. They will be mentored by some of the industry&#8217;s leading figures and the curriculum will cover a wide range of topics to guide and inform students on the ins and outs of the industry at all levels. Selected streetwear products designed during the programme will also be available for purchase: exclusively at<strong> Foot Locker&#8217;s Marble Arch<\/strong> shop.<\/p>\n<p>A diverse committee of experts from the world of design, fashion and culture will lead the workshops and guide you through the course. Some of the world&#8217;s most relevant and influential names will be present:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Yoon Ahn<\/strong> (Dior Homme&#8217;s Jewellery Design Director)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carlos Nazario<\/strong> (Global Fashion Director at i-D Magazine)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ib Kamara<\/strong> (Editor-in-Chief at Dazed Magazine)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Guillaume &#8216;Gee&#8217; Schmidt<\/strong> (Co-Founder of Dutch streetwear label, Patta)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fraser Cooke<\/strong> (Global Influencer Marketing Special Projects Senior Director at Nike)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Martine Rose<\/strong> (Founder of Martine Rose)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Florence T\u00e9tier<\/strong> (Founder of Novembre Magazine and Creative Director at Jean Paul Gaultier)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tremaine Emory<\/strong> (Founder of Denim Tears brand and Creative Director of Supreme)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As <strong>Carlos Nazario<\/strong>, Global Fashion Director of <strong>i-D Magazine<\/strong> says: <em><strong>&#8220;I am very proud to be part of a generation and a movement that is ensuring that no young person has to wonder if the colour of their skin or the root of their background will be an impediment on their path to success. The course will consist of several modules, ranging from art direction and graphic design to supply chain management and garment manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>To truly achieve the ambition of nurturing a new generation of creatives in the design world, essential career development tools such as sewing machines; heat presses; or digital suites will allow participants to operate in an experimental workshop environment; from which they will each work to produce a limited edition capsule collection. Selected items designed by aspiring young talents during the programme will be sold exclusively at <strong>Foot Locker&#8217;s Marble Arch<\/strong> flagship store in London.<\/p>\n<p>This partnership with <strong>Metallic<\/strong> supports <strong>Foot Locker&#8217;s Leading Education<\/strong> <strong>and Economic Development (LEED)<\/strong> initiative; a commitment focused on education and economic development within the black community. The aim of the collaboration is to partner with the <strong>Metallic Fund<\/strong>, which is a black-led organisation to accelerate the careers of some of the UK&#8217;s most promising young black and minority ethnic creatives.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;It&#8217;s a dream come true for us to finally launch our community space with the help of our London creative family and Foot Locker.
