Reach out, touch faith<\/em>: Depeche Mode is the first headliner for the Barcelona and Madrid editions of Primavera Sound 2023.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was revealed by the band at a press conference in Berlin<\/strong> to announce the release of their new album, ‘Memento Mori’<\/strong><\/em>, and a world tour that will mark the festival debut of one of the seminal names of the last 40 years, responsible for synthesising the language of techno-pop for the masses.<\/p>\n

Depeche Mode<\/strong>‘s festival visit will be part of Dave Gahan<\/strong> and Martin L. Gore<\/strong>‘s first tour as a duo after the unexpected death of founding member Andrew<\/strong> Fletcher<\/strong>. Their performances at Primavera Sound<\/strong>, on Friday 2 June in Barcelona<\/strong> and Friday 9 June in Madrid<\/strong>, will be the only two dates the band will play in Spain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The confirmation of Depeche<\/strong> Mode<\/strong> officially opens the Primavera Sound 2023<\/strong> line-up, which will be the same for the Barcelona<\/strong> and Madrid<\/strong> editions. \u00a0A line-up to immerse yourself in the most exciting contemporary sounds that will first fill the Parc del F\u00f3rum<\/strong> with music from the 1st to the 3rd of June<\/strong> and, a week later, from the 8th to the 10th of June<\/strong>, will open the venue of the City of Rock<\/strong> in Arganda del Rey; a space specially designed for big music events that can be reached thanks to the shuttle bus service that the organisers will deploy to ensure a smooth flow to and from the venue at all times. It will be a free service for ticket holders connecting Madrid<\/strong> and the City of Rock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But the landing of Primavera<\/strong> Sound<\/strong> in Madrid<\/strong><\/a> will not be limited to the Arganda del Rey<\/strong> venue. Following the Barcelona model, and as an identifying feature of the festival regardless of the coordinates where it takes place, some of the most emblematic venues of the capital will host a complementary programme of concerts around the main days with the aim that Primavera<\/strong> Sound<\/strong> becomes part of the cultural fabric of the city.<\/p>\n

In addition, PS Madrid<\/strong> will also have its own opening day on Wednesday<\/strong> 7 June<\/strong> to round off the maxim that will govern this double edition: the Madrid event will be a faithful reflection of the Barcelona<\/strong> festival.<\/p>\n

Once this first headliner has been revealed, next Thursday 6th October at 12<\/strong> noon the sale of Primavera<\/strong> Pro<\/strong> Basic<\/strong> and Premium<\/strong> accreditations will be reactivated at a special price (and for a limited time).<\/p>\n
