Within the utopian construction of eco-futurism, often whitewashed by greenwashing, fast fashion brands such as Zara and SHEIN enter the resale market by championing &#8220;sustainable&#8221; issues when they have not even changed their core business model based on overproduction and labor toxicity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-319595 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/highxtar-zara-shein-circularidad-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"707\" srcset=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/highxtar-zara-shein-circularidad-1.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/highxtar-zara-shein-circularidad-1-300x177.jpg 300w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/highxtar-zara-shein-circularidad-1-1024x603.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/highxtar-zara-shein-circularidad-1-768x452.jpg 768w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/highxtar-zara-shein-circularidad-1-973x573.jpg 973w, https:\/\/highxtar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/highxtar-zara-shein-circularidad-1-508x299.jpg 508w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Resulta curioso que tras haberse destapado una serie de <a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/el-caso-shein-cual-es-el-verdadero-coste-del-fast-fashion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>casos alarmantes<\/strong><\/a> relacionados con <strong>SHEIN<\/strong>, ahora \u00e9sta haya decidido lavar su imagen a trav\u00e9s de acciones ecol\u00f3gicas que aparentemente \u201cno vayan a proporcionarle beneficios\u201d. Ese manifiesto es el que recitan los dos gigantes de la moda r\u00e1pida que ahora han visto una nueva oportunidad de mercado con la que fidelizar y comprometer a nuevos clientes, mientras refuerzan su discurso sostenible.<\/p>\n<p>It is curious that after a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/the-shein-case-what-is-the-true-cost-of-fast-fashion\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>alarming cases<\/strong><\/a> related to <strong>SHEIN<\/strong> has been uncovered, SHEIN has now decided to clean up its image through ecological actions that apparently &#8220;are not going to provide profits&#8221;. This is the manifesto recited by the two fast fashion giants who have now seen a new market opportunity to build loyalty and engage new customers while reinforcing their sustainable discourse.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shein<\/strong> has launched a <strong>resale marketplace<\/strong> within its <strong>US app<\/strong> that allows shoppers to resell parts they have used for Tiktok hauls; while <strong>Zara<\/strong> announces that it will also have its own secondhand marketplace in the<strong> UK<\/strong> from next month. It will also offer <strong>repair<\/strong> and <strong>donation<\/strong> <strong>services<\/strong>. Otherwise, this supposed compensation of fashion&#8217;s impact does not take place. In fact, rather than prolonging the life of existing garments, by many of these brands offering credit for their resold garments, what they are doing is <strong>incentivizing greater consumption<\/strong>; as well as bringing customers back to the brand&#8217;s website, enticing them to reinvest the proceeds from the second-hand sale.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond that, there is no evidence whatsoever that these companies are going to reduce production, but rather continue their practice of overproduction.
