After filing a lawsuit against GAP for plagiarizing its signature Snap-T sweater last November, Patagonia has finally settled with the brand. Details about the case have not yet been made public, but the judge has dismissed the case after the brands decided to drop the claims.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Patagonia<\/strong> denounced a few months ago the obvious similarities between GAP’s<\/strong> design and its iconic snap-flap pocket sweater and the “P-6” mountain logo<\/a>. “GAP’s infringements have caused or may cause dilution of Patagonia’s famous and distinctive mark by diminishing its distinctiveness and unique association with Patagonia,” the company shared. “Given how derivative GAP’s Infringements are of Patagonia’s original designs and logos, there is no doubt that GAP’s copying has been willful and deliberate.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand indicated that customers might mistake the GAP design for one of the brand’s many collaborations, or directly for Patagonia’s own product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
