The world’s leading art and luxury auction house and the Maison will collaborate in an exclusive sale featuring 22 unique Louis Vuitton Artycapucines. Each piece has been uniquely recreated, signed and presented in a personalised Bo\u00eete Chapeau Monogram. Proceeds from the auction will go to a number of charities and NGOs.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Artycapucines<\/em><\/strong> offers world-renowned contemporary artists the opportunity to capture their unique vision on the leather of one of LV<\/a><\/strong>‘s timeless bags: the Capucines<\/strong>. Named after Rue Neuve-des Capucines<\/strong>, the Parisian street where Louis Vuitton<\/strong> opened its first boutique in 1854, the Capucines design has been the ideal canvas for 24 international artists to unleash their creativity in each of the four annual Artycapucines<\/em><\/strong> collections presented in 2019. All of the ultra-limited edition bags in the collection are a demonstration of the collection’s versatility in fusing talent and innovation with the ingenuity and skill of the Maison’s master craftsmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 22 Artycapucines<\/em><\/strong> bags presented at this auction organised by Louis Vuitton <\/strong>and Sotheby’s <\/strong>are new, exceptional and unique pieces, created with the same techniques used in the original limited editions, a process that has required a meticulous search for materials as well as a wide variety of painstaking craftsmanship and attention to detail. Participating artists include Am\u00e9lie Bertrand<\/strong>, Daniel Buren<\/strong>, Sam Falls<\/strong>, Urs Fischer<\/strong>, Gregor Hildebrandt<\/strong>, Donna Huanca<\/strong>, Huang<\/strong> Yuxing<\/strong>, Alex Israel<\/strong>, Liu Wei<\/strong>, Peter Marino<\/strong>, Beatriz Milhazes<\/strong>, Vik Muniz<\/strong>, Jean-Michel Othoniel<\/strong>, Park Seo-Bo<\/strong>, Paola Pivi<\/strong>, Uno Rondinone<\/strong>, Tschabalala Self<\/strong>, Josh Smith<\/strong>, Jonas Wood<\/strong>, Kennedy<\/strong> Yanko<\/strong>, Zeng Fanzhi<\/strong> and Zhao Zhao<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each bag features the artist’s signature under the flap and will be presented in a Bo\u00eete Chapeau<\/strong> covered in Monogram<\/em><\/strong> canvas, a modern hatbox inspired by a design first presented by LV<\/strong> in 1924.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The auction will be open for online bidding between 28 June and 12 July 2023 <\/strong>on sothebys.com<\/a><\/strong>. Proceeds from the sale of each Artycapucines will go to a specific charity or NGO chosen by the bag’s creator.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
