Gucci <\/strong>and Christie’s <\/strong>auction house now invite both art collectors and fashion lovers to explore their intersection through the vast enigmatic and, for many, unknown world of algorithms and artificial intelligence. All this from different expressions of generative art created by some names like Claire Silver<\/strong> or Emily Xie<\/strong>, as well as designs inspired by Gucci’s heritage and archive.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NFT collection<\/strong> is thus influenced by various aspects such as fabrics, color palettes or Gucci’s Bamboo 1947 collection, an iconic series of bags with the brand’s signature bamboo handle. Commenting on this source of inspiration, and her work, one of the participating artists, Shannon<\/strong>, adds, “I can’t overstate how cooperative and wonderful both Christie’s and Gucci have been to work with. In the process of working with Gucci and examining their materials for the collaboration, I was struck by the similarities between their process and their generative systems. The work aims to amplify the existing generative nature of fashion creativity within constraints and expose the bi-directional influence of a system and its creations.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featured artists include generative artist and painter, Luke Shannon<\/strong>, as well as DRAUP founder, Dani Loftus<\/strong>, who is exhibiting her work ‘Antheia’, the first digital fashion piece created with DRAUP’s digital tailoring to be sold at a major auction house.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition ‘Future Frequencies: Explorations in Generative Art and Fashion<\/strong>‘ opens July 18 at Christie’s 3.0<\/a><\/strong>, an auction platform launched by Christie’s in 2022.
