After a crisis at 30, Pamela Hern\u00e1ndez, a Costa Rican designer based in CDMX, discovered that what made her happy was making shoes and ventured out with Cruda.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today we can say that craftsmanship is becoming more valuable than ever. Globalised consumption is being left behind by the big brands that have developed a socially and environmentally unsustainable economy. Society is tired of finding the same thing everywhere in the world. Whereas years ago craftsmanship was rejected for its inability to make pieces exactly the same, now it is precisely this that is its great value. Some brands are joining this way of seeing the fashion industry and the footwear brand Cruda<\/a><\/strong> is one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed in Costa Rica but made in Mexico, the firm founded in 2016 by designer Pamela Hern\u00e1ndez recovers traditional artisan shoemaking techniques. Almost 100% of the materials used to manufacture and package the shoes are recycled materials: meticulously selected second-hand leather garments, wood from old demolished houses and discarded furniture. All of this is recovered and transformed to give life to new, unique and unrepeatable items that demonstrate the good work done by the brand’s artisan collaborators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
