The Carlyle-backed Litmus Music <\/strong>venture, first launched in summer 2022, acquires the publishing rights to the five albums released by Katy<\/strong> Perry<\/strong> between 2008 and 2020: One of the Boys, Teenage Dream, Prism, Witness and Smile.<\/strong> Universal Music Group will continue to own the masters of those albums.<\/p>\n\n\n\nOver the years, Katy Perry has been slowing down her professional career to focus on her family, her Las Vegas residences and her personal life in general. Carlyle CEO Matt Settle<\/strong> shared, “We believe this is a testament to the team’s ability to partner with the best artists in the world. Katy’s iconic songs have not only achieved extraordinary commercial success, but have significantly influenced popular culture”. Hank Forsyth,<\/strong> CEO and co-founder of Litmus Music, added, “Katy’s songs are an essential part of the global cultural fabric. We are grateful to be working together again with such a trusted partner whose integrity shines through in everything she does”.<\/p>\n\n\n\nCarlyle has invested more than $3 billion USD in the sports, media and entertainment space since 2018 and continues to look for ways to expand its market share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
