This ‘new’ superfood, used since the time of the botanist Theophrastus, a disciple of Aristotle, is really a remedy for all ills because of its innumerable benefits.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve been to the Mediterranean this summer, you may have come across a red rockrose bush. Although it looks like a decorative flower, the red cistus is a plant rooted in Greek tradition that is considered a superfood thanks to its high concentration of polyphenols (among the highest of all European plants) making it an extraordinary antioxidant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ‘new’ superfood, used since the time of the botanist Theophrastus, a disciple of Aristotle, is truly a remedy for all ills thanks to its countless benefits. It is considered an ally for our health but also for our beauty routine. And unlike other superfoods, it does not come from exotic places but from the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red cistus is a powerful anti-inflammatory that stimulates the immune system, defends against viruses, prevents colds and bronchitis, has a detoxifying effect, and when used as a beauty ingredient in creams or serums it soothes sensitive skin, dermatitis and eczema, and heals wounds. It also has a strong anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle effect on the skin.<\/p>\n\n\n
