Far from being a runway show, the presentation opened with the designer’s own mother as the model, dressed completely in black and followed by more friends & family: one of his former professors, an architecture student, a basketball player and his personal trainer Max were also part of the show. Demna<\/strong> confessed to having been inspired by all the people who have marked her life and many of those she has worked with. Amanda Lepore <\/strong>in a dazzling evening gown, Diane Pernet, Cathy Horyn, Martina Tiefenthaler, Robin Meason, BFRND<\/strong> and many more posed on the velvet curtained stage, accompanied by the voice of Isabelle Huppert<\/strong> and a thrilling orchestra in the background. “This show is a reflection of Demna’s world and the identities that make up her community,” read the show notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection of 88 looks featured a prominent presence of pieces with padded shoulders and wide contours, which were evident in oversized blazers and dramatic coats. In addition to this, Batman glasses and fruity printed shopping bags were incorporated to complement Alpinestars pilot jackets and bright floral dresses. During the runway show, there was also an appearance of curious terrycloth robes fresh from the shower on the red carpet, and the event was closed with an iconic wedding dress composed of seven pieces from the 2000s masterfully presented by BFRND.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
