Chitose Abe<\/strong> took an unexpected turn at sacai after presenting a capsule collection with Moncler at PFW<\/strong>, delving into the depths of his archive as an urban explorer to imagine a future era for the brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first sacai x Moncler <\/strong>collaboration takes inspiration from the Italian luxury outerwear brand’s 70th anniversary <\/strong>with its technical designs and hybrid garments to travel from the city to the mountains, channelling that spirit with the hybrid functionality and sensual elegance at its core. Chitose, in the role of visionary, then reflects on what the next 70 years of Moncler would look like and how the fashion community would wear it through a capsule of four looks to outfit them, while making a big impact on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moncler’s future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The looks are dressed in a two-tone palette of black and grey tones in jackets with furry waistcoats and pleated dresses. Meanwhile, oversized suits are complemented by tonal outerwear that can be slung over the shoulders alongside trousers and fitted dungarees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pieces in the collection evolve and transform based on the hybrid aesthetic of the Japanese brand and Moncler’s mountaineering spirit, connecting the sophistication of urban tailoring with functionality and utilitarianism in pieces that can be linked together, creating new forms and functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The offer consists of two complete outfits for men and two for women with pieces that can be disconnected and reconnected in a new way, inviting the wearer to interact with the garments. Jackets can be attached to trousers to become a jumpsuit, while the turn of a zip opens the sleeves so that a puffer can be transformed into a cape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This narrative is also carried over to garments that hang from the body and can be worn as accessories. Internal straps turn a down jacket into a backpack; the same detail is integrated into the formality and neatness of the suits; a jacket and blazer hang back to reveal a dress with pleats, lingerie influences and the blend of feminine elegance with utility, a Sacai signature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
