On the occasion of the 105th winter edition of the international fashion trade fair, Pitti Immagine Uomo, Vibram, a world leader in the development and production of high-performance rubber soles, presents its latest revolutionary concept, exploring new horizons that combine technology and design to create a level of customisation unprecedented in the world of footwear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against the backdrop of Florence’s iconic Fortezza da Basso, symbol of the renowned international fashion fair, Vibram presents Vibram Strat-X technology, an innovation conceived by the company to radically transform the conventional approach to shoe upper construction and customisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vibram Strat-X is an innovative material, a thin sheet that through an advanced moulding process allows the creation of technical or fashion uppers and\/or overlays in a single step while maintaining the high quality of Vibram rubber. The rubber sheets, with different finishes and thicknesses, allow the creation of a wide range of elements: resistance, lightness, strength, elasticity, impermeability and versatility emerge as the fundamental characteristics of this new concept, adaptable to various applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two finished products LB214 and Luxury Rubber Boot, presented at Pitti in black for the former and blue for the latter, are two examples of different applications of this process which generates two different types of construction for both. Both are now available for purchase on Vibram’s e-commerce.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LB214 is a hybrid shoe with a futuristic design, meticulously crafted through a 5-stage production process, from sole to upper. Here, Strat-X technology acts as a protective layer offering waterproofing and protection.<\/p>\n\n\n

The outsole incorporates Vibram’s cutting-edge Litebase technology, which reduces 30% of the overall weight of the sole by reducing the tread depth by 50%, while maintaining Vibram quality in terms of grip, traction and durability, along with Vibram’s Megagrip compound that offers unrivalled grip properties on wet and dry terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of design, the shoe was made with a single rubber body, dyed entirely black; finally, among the geometric lines of the shoe, the single yellow colour accent on the Vibram logo behind the heel stands out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Luxury Rubber boot, meanwhile, combines quality and comfort, creating a unique and original look for all occasions. The durable rubber outsole is equipped with Vibram Arctic Grip technology, which provides superior grip on icy surfaces, especially on wet ice. The Strat-X technology used for the upper is characterised by a lightweight and comfortable material that is as soft as leather, but maintains the high quality performance level of Vibram rubber.<\/p>\n\n\n
