On the single ‘One Night\/All Night’ with Tame Impala, the band says: “We wanted this track to sound like a dark\/techno interpretation of Justice had found a sample of a Kevin Parker disco composition. Kevin has a fascinating sense of melody, in the sense that he manages to write melodies that seem simple and natural, but very peculiar at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This song oscillates between pure electronic music and pure disco, but you never get to feel both at the same time. This same idea of instantly switching from one genre to another within a song runs through the whole album, and is perhaps most clearly shown in ‘One Night\/All Night’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And about ‘Generator’, the band adds: “To us, it sounds like “Getaway” by the Salsoul Orchestra, but with gabber sounds and classic 90s hardcore techno. Disco\/funk and electronic music in general have always been fundamental elements of the music we make as Justice. On ‘Hyperdrama’, we make them coexist, but not peacefully.
