Yesterday, New York Fashion Week<\/a><\/strong> hosted the Ludovic de Saint Sernin <\/strong>fashion show, whose proposal is based on the figure of the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe<\/a><\/strong>. He is one of the greatest references in the Frenchman’s creative career, guiding him from his beginnings and serving as inspiration for this collection conceived as a collaboration between Ludovic<\/strong> and the late artist. In it, images from Mapplethorpe<\/strong>‘s archive and the characters in them are brought to life with thrilling delicacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to sensual silhouettes in the form of lingerie dresses, chiffon waistcoats and organdy shirts, there was also a surprising collection of jewellery created in collaboration with TOUS<\/strong>, made in the brand’s workshops, in the form of bracelets, earrings and chokers plated in 18k gold with handmade black enamel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“TOUS has an incredible expertise in the field of fine jewellery, which it has been cultivating for over a century, and we were completely fascinated by its history. Jewellery is a discreet but incredibly important part of Mapplethorpe’s work, so it was a great privilege to bring these pieces to life for TOUS,”<\/em><\/strong> says Ludovic de Saint Sernin<\/strong> himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
