In a new interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\"><strong>Complex<\/strong><\/a> magazine, the singer-songwriter shared how Rihanna&#8217;s 2010 song &#8220;California King Bed&#8221; came about. Long was in Miami at We The Best studio, working on the song with Jermaine Jackson of The Runners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Muni Long - Made For Me (Official Music Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vYa3ak-3p60?start=1&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time, Long was planning to move to Los Angeles, so she was searching the web for furniture for her new home. That&#8217;s when Jackson asked her how the song was going. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t have anything because I&#8217;d been tinkering around on the web. I was like, &#8216;Oh, I&#8217;ve got a title&#8217;. I said, &#8216;California King Bed,&#8217; and he said, &#8216;OK,&#8217; and then he left. So I was like, &#8216;Oh, now I&#8217;ve got to write the whole song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216; I wrote the song in about 10 minutes. I was like, let me do this really fast, so I can go back to looking for my furniture online. Originally, they were trying to pitch it to Kelly Clarkson.&#8221; A couple of months later, her publisher revealed that the song was for Rihanna herself. &#8220;After that track, I worked with her in the studio many times, but that was my first work with RiRi&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Rihanna - California King Bed\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nhBorPm6JjQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the song &#8220;California King Bed&#8221;, which appeared on Rihanna&#8217;s 2010 album Loud, Muni Long wrote on RiRi&#8217;s 2011 song &#8220;Watch n&#8217; Learn&#8221; from the album Talk That Talk. The songwriter also appears on song credits for Fifth Harmony&#8217;s &#8220;Worth It&#8221;, Clarkson&#8217;s &#8220;Love So Soft&#8221;, Ariana Grande&#8217;s &#8220;Imagine&#8221;, Selena Gomez and the Scene&#8217;s &#8220;Who Says&#8221;
