{"id":441761,"date":"2024-03-21T11:49:35","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T10:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/?p=441761"},"modified":"2024-03-21T11:49:37","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T10:49:37","slug":"hermes-sued-over-birkin-bag-sales-model","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/en\/hermes-sued-over-birkin-bag-sales-model\/","title":{"rendered":"Herm\u00e8s sued over Birkin bag sales model"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two California residents allege that Herm\u00e8s is illegally requiring customers to purchase ancillary products before offering them the opportunity to purchase a Birkin bag, in an illegal practice known as &#8220;bundling&#8221;. The company&#8217;s sales associates are pushing the scheme by pressuring customers to buy shoes, scarves, jewellery and other items for the chance to buy a Birkin, according to the lawsuit. &#8220;Only consumers deemed worthy can buy one.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;The binding product is separate and distinct from the ancillary products that consumers must purchase. Instead, sales associates earn 3% commission on ancillary products and 1.5% commission on non-Birkin bags.
