Accompanied by the creative and stylist La Guille<\/strong><\/a>, who has been in charge of broadcasting live everything that has happened during this 33rd edition, we sneaked into the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau <\/strong>to show you from the inside everything that happens at 080<\/strong> Barcelona Fashion<\/strong>. The multidisciplinary fashion platform of reference in Europe has acted as an engine of change, as well as an element of awareness in relation to different social values such as sustainability, circularity and diversity in the fashion industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

080 Barcelona Fashion is a space for dialogue and reflection where new forms of artistic expression can be explored. The brands participating on this occasion were 404 Studio, Avec Amour, Bielo, Compte Spain, Custo Barcelona, Dominnico, E\u00f1aut, Escorpion, Free Form Style, Ga G\u00f3 \u00d3 Studio, Guillermo Justicia, Habey Club, Hoss Intropia, Jnorig, Larhha, Lebor Gabala, Lola Casademunt By Maite, Mart\u00edn Across, Menchen Tomas, Simorra, Sita Murt, The Label Edition, Txell Miras, Vel\u00e1squez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition, the area open to the public was “080 Aesthetics”,<\/strong> a digital exhibition located in the Pabell\u00f3n de la Pur\u00edssima that brought together internationally renowned artists linked to the world of fashion. The exhibition was commissioned by the creative studio Misato Kindness and brought together: Andrei Warren, Bryan Huynh, Daniel Sannwald, Hans Reyes, Jon Emmony, Miroslav Perkovik & Mili\u00e7a Lukic, Misato Kidness, Oscar Zabala, Sucuk und Bratwurst, Unax Lafuente, Yuen Hsieh and Rodolfo Hern\u00e1ndez.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition, the event is supported by 5 sponsors and 11 collaborators. The sponsors are Wella (official hairdresser), MAC Cosmetics (official make-up), Moco Museum (official cultural contents), Nobu Hotel Barcelona (official hotel) and OK Mobility (official mobility sponsor). ESCORPION<\/strong>\u00a0opened the day’s fashion shows. Founded in 1929, Escorpion presents\u00a0RE-CONNECTION<\/strong>, a journey through time and space. A reconnection that inspires to give shape and colour to knitwear, its eternal protagonist. Jacquards and pixelated floral prints in keeping with the digital theme. A palette of lilac colours in keeping with the future dusk trend. Oversized bombers, shorts and cropped tops in houndstooth. Sweatshirts and knitted dresses combined with culottes and extra long trousers create contemporary silhouettes. Neutral tones with a touch of matcha green call for sustainability and bring us closer to nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second fashion show of the day was SIMORRA, which focuses its proposals on the architecture of materials and shapes as the basis of a functional design of high creative value.\u00a0THE ART OF BRAIDING\u00a0<\/strong>is inspired by the connection of all those women who braided their stories as a community, as a symbol of strength, courage and union, committed to a collective life far removed from individualism. The collection highlights the value of the act of weaving, a millenary act of concentration and meditation, outlining, in a way, what the collaborative processes of tomorrow could be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carefully crafted designs full of detail, craftsmanship and personality add a special touch to each garment. Feminine, romantic silhouettes, natural fabrics, airy, jacquard and handmade prints are an artistic expression of festivity. A collection full of colour incorporating shades of fuchsia, pink, mauve and touches of tangerine and green in different intensities, harmoniously intertwined with white.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most vibrant colours and striking prints, typical of the pop art movement that began in the 60s, find their moment in the new proposal of LOLA CASADEMUNT BY MAITE. So\u00a0MANIFESTO 080 TRENDY POP<\/strong>\u00a0is an artistic expression of pop art taken to the imaginary of the brand where the star print of the firm, the animal print, is dyed red to complete a palette of vivid colours such as klein blue, red, green and yellow. All of them combined with black and in pleats, quilted, jacquard, taffeta and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first day was closed by Sita Murt, who is celebrating her centenary.<\/strong>\u00a0100 YEARS KNITTING THE FUTURE\/\u00a0<\/strong>is a collection with personality, where ecru and black coexist with feminine neutrals and nuances, such as eucalyptus green, butter or honey colour. Naturally, knitwear is at the centre of this collection with high quality pieces thanks to the use of the best mohair and baby alpaca wool. The collection stands out for its very elaborate and special pieces, knitted in intarsia and playing with transparencies or with techniques to achieve an iridescent stitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gothic structures are transferred in skirts and supports, leading us to question what moment, space and time we are in. For the making of this collection, fabrics left over from previous collections are reused, as well as materials and pieces rescued from wardrobes and second-hand shops that take on a new life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this collection, the brand dares to explore the most intimate and sensual corners of our favourite stories to once again make the public think about everything we have been told since we were children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embracing a practical yet purposeful design ethos, it presents useful pieces with technical precision, functional pockets, unfinished edges and meticulous construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the essence of the brand, this collection stands out for its bold volumes and shapes, defined by the architecture of each piece. Tailored patterns appear as the starting point of the different looks. UNFOLDING presents a new line of the brand’s fabrics, made from premium leather using ethical and sustainable practices. Fabrics such as denim and carved corduroy are once again in abundance, as well as golden buttons. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colours of the collection were black, anthracite, make-up, beige, navy blue and sand applied in wool, viscose, silk, neoprene, jacquard knit, plush, veil, crepe knit and diplomatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection invites reflection on the evolving nature of reality in the digital age and the impact of technology on our understanding of the tangible world with the incorporation of digital elements and 3D printing. This collection is also inspired by the work of artists Shirley Kaneda and Nobuo Sekine; from here an interpretation is initiated under the analysis of what we consider real or unreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FREE FORM STYLE opened the fashion shows on the third day. It is a pioneering brand when it comes to designing fashion adapted for different disabilities. The collection called NOM\u00c9S UN DIA PERFECTE (A PERFECT DAY) is based on work clothes from the mid-19th century in the United States. It sets out to adapt the cuts and fits of the clothing for people who move around in wheelchairs, while maintaining the essence and style of the cowboy era. They design with a focus on non-normative bodies so that all people feel represented and welcome in their collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a collection inspired by mycorrhizae; a symbiotic relationship between the roots of fungi and plants. The organisms that participate obtain benefits from each other. These relationships are essential for the survival of ecosystems. Thus, in this collection we wanted to experiment with volumes, silhouettes, prints and colours, with the intention of transmitting harmony and delicacy within a total chaos. Combining details of classic pieces, which, through modelling and collage, have been converted into totally experimental ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lebor Gabala is the professional project of Maite Mu\u00f1oz. Her FW24 collection is a journey to the Scottish Highlands, to its nature overflowing with intense colours, to its traditions and history. Coats, overshirts and scarves in extra fine merino wool in jacquard of diamonds and squares that pay homage to the Scottish tartans; double wools that evoke the transhumant soul of the Highlands in oversized knitted pieces. Jumpers in a blend of cashmere and superfine merino wool act as a second skin, to build layers and keep out the cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

404 Studio by Ana\u00efs Vauxcelles is moving towards evolutionary craftsmanship with its latest collection. Craftsmanship is also memory, it is humanity. In this collection, they are inspired by the anime film Ghost in the Shell. Taking as a reference the soul of the machine and its construction with the juxtaposition of hardware and software elements as layers in the creation of mechanical elements. They note the weight of consumerism and the precariousness of raw materials, thinking of a future in the style of Mad Max and Ghost in the Shell, taking as an idea the possible “war of sustainability” that they talk about in Ghost in the Shell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mateo Vel\u00e1squez presents BAREQUERO using the Colombian town where he grew up, Marmato, as a visual and cultural reference, celebrating the mining culture of the working class. This collection aims to show the designer’s past, fantasising about a different upbringing in which the disappearance of a patriarchal, sexist and homophobic society would have had a very different and positive impact. Gold symbolises the superior and divine, a hard-to-find treasure that gives meaning to long and exhausting days of work inside a mine, living with mercury, lack of air, darkness and heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moments of real fantasy and aspirations that MENCH\u00c9N TOM\u00c0S transfers to the collection through embroidered fabrics, silks, gauzes and cotton. A festive atmosphere reflected in timeless, durable and fluid pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domingo Rodr\u00edguez approaches this new collection from an eclectic and overloaded perspective, where the marine world is represented through elements such as lace, rivets, little eyes and metallic pieces, bows and artificial fur. The materials used include denim, recycled leather and fur, corduroy, gold and silver laminate and vinyl. As in every fashion show of the brand, the designer has counted on some of his friends to walk the catwalk: from Samantha Hudson, to Clara Courel, Alex de la Croix and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simple patterns play with volumes, giving special prominence to backs and mini shorts, which blend into impeccable styles. Vintage bags and suitcases have been intervened by\u00a0AVEC AMOUR<\/strong>\u00a0to incorporate scenes in which garments from the collection appear, hand-painted in oil. Antique sports uniforms and ballet garments are the two points of union in\u00a0AVEC AMOUR<\/strong>‘s new proposal, making the universes of Daniel and Maria, the firm’s designers, come together forever in a perfect collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the ambience of Turkish baths, the vibrant palettes of Peter Doig’s paintings and the art of diving in Korea, this collection emerges in various cultural narratives. Focusing on dry cotton, linen, silk and super light cashmere makes each piece a blend of art and craft. As the pieces are worn, they evoke a deep sense of comfort and tranquillity, inducing a state of unparalleled relaxation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand’s 02 PLAGE collection is divided into different lines, sharing volumes, shapes and finishes to unify everything in colour and textures. The first line is white and pure, with romantic and airy touches, symbolising both the beginning and the birth of any being. The second line continues with light colours and shades of white and beige. Black stains the next line, with minimalist touches that mix styles and textures in all-black looks. The collection uses natural materials such as cotton, wool, silk, bamboo fibre and tencel, as well as recycled fibres, off-stock footage and recycling are also part of one of the lines of the collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand focuses on the reuse of fabrics and the use of recycled or 100% organic fibres. SIDE EFFECTS is a clear example of how we focus on liking, fitting in, erasing our limits and drawing from nuts; all this in order to transform ourselves and project something new, something far away from us.
