The collaboration brings together innovators and footwear creators from around the world to push the boundaries of boot making, resulting in five new silhouettes inspired by TECTRA (technical transparency) within a single colour palette, called “Cosmic latte”. This launch means that, for the first time, CONSTRUCT:10061 models will be available online for the whole world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CONSTRUCT:10061 is the fruit of the relationship that began between Timberland and CONCEPTKICKS in 2018, where the two brought together designers from across the industry to challenge conventions. The annual CONSTRUCT:10061 events aim to delve into footwear innovations, highlighting the raw process of product creation and development, and resulting in unique bespoke creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest maker event was The Shed at Timberland’s exclusive prototyping lab in New Hampshire. The space was powered by Timberland’s Advanced Concepts & Energy team, working on new 3D digital prototyping capabilities with in-situ injection moulding, leather pattern cutting, quad stitching, embossing and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Timberland CONSTRUCT:10061 collection features five limited-access models that were created at the latest makers’ workshop, and will be sold exclusively during Earth Month to highlight the eco-innovation and contemporary design incorporated into each boot. All are made from responsible, premium materials such as ReBOTL™ textile lining and bio-based Dyneema\u00ae fabrics and uppers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the works of a diverse group of designers, creators and innovators, the release features original designs by T\u00e9la D’Amore, Jaimus Tailor, Jes\u00fas D\u00edaz, Daniel Bailey and John Chen. Each of these designers brings their unique perspective to each silhouette, elevating the works of previous CONSTRUCT:10061 workshops with an even bolder approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timberland redesigns new takes on favourite silhouettes, such as the C61 Stacked 10-Inch boot, designed by T\u00e9la D’Amore, which plays on the original Super Boot with an elongated shaft and double EVA sole. The addition of leather laces around the boot’s upper adds a contemporary touch to this utilitarian silhouette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C61 Gen Extender boot, designed by CONCEPTKICKS’ own John Chen, offers an adjustable silhouette thanks to its stretch layered upper. The foldable nature of the boot is a slight nod to Isamu Noguchi’s iconic paper light structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaimus Tailor, founder of upcycling brand Greater Goods, designed the C61 Woven clog, which blends an outdoor attitude with hand-finished details. The upper is made from a fabric made from individual strips of nylon mesh and a neoprene shank that provides the perfect fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C61 Neo Veil Hiker, inspired by the Euro Hiker and designed by Daniel Bailey and Jesus Diaz, transforms the iconic mountain boot into a new design with a Lycra\u00ae outer shell. The boot’s construction creates unique visual interest by blurring the line between the upper and the square sole with a rounded toe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the C61 Dy-Tec World Hiker, designed by Daniel Bailey and John Chen, is a material study in boot technicality within an iconic silhouette. This model is constructed with a bio-based Dyneema\u00ae upper that overlays a mesh and climbing rubber around the toe to provide structure and volume to the thick Vibram\u00ae Bristol sole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
