In the midst of promoting her new album ‘Childstar’, the Mexican singer and actress becomes the image of the new edition of Viva Glam.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

MAC turns 40, so it’s a very important moment for the brand; but in addition, its most famous lipstick, Viva Glam, celebrates three decades of success as the flagship of its mission to address some of the most pressing challenges in the world today. In addition to continuing its support for people affected by HIV\/AIDS – the goal for which the project was born 30 years ago – VIVA GLAM is committed to promoting equality in four key areas: fighting infections, gender equality, LGBTQIA+ rights and supporting vulnerable communities. And like every year, the brand debuts a new collaboration, this time with Danna Paola co-starring in the campaign alongside Kim Petras, following the example of previous figures such as Rosal\u00eda<\/a><\/strong>, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and RuPaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt’s a great honor and a dream come true,\u201d says Danna Paola about being part of the project. \u201cI almost said this because MAC has been in my life since I was a little girl, and makeup in general has always been a very personal part of my life,\u201d says the Mexican artist, who has also been a global ambassador for the brand since last September, of which she considers herself an absolute fan: \u201cProfessionally, MAC has been present throughout my life, and being able to evolve and make this fusion of being a global ambassador and also co-starring in the campaign with Kim Petras<\/a><\/strong> to celebrate the 30th anniversary of VIVA GLAM makes me feel very excited and grateful\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danna’s excitement lies not only in becoming the visible face of the brand but also in her involvement in the solidarity project, being an absolute advocate for women’s equality and using her voice to support underprivileged communities around the world. \u201cHaving grown up in the spotlight, it has taken a lot of courage for me to be myself and claim my rightful place in my own career,\u201d says Paola. \u201cI am very excited to team up with M-A-C VIVA GLAM to empower other women and girls who are finding their voice, and facilitate help to the communities that need our support the most.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about what it’s like to star in the campaign alongside Kim Petras, becoming part of that group of women of the Viva Glam legacy, Danna Paola is clear that it is a great motivation to keep working and dreaming big, while putting Mexico on the map: \u201cIt is a great pride as a Mexican to be able to continue taking my country around the world. It is something that makes me very proud, and to be able to be in such an important campaign, that I have seen for so many years and that I said someday and today it is happening\u2026 it is something very special. And I think it’s a great opportunity and at the same time, it makes me happy to be part of this generation of women artists that I admire and that have also inspired me a lot,\u201d she concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside Kim Petras, a pioneer of the LGBTQIA+ community and the first openly transgender artist to win a GRAMMY award, the Mexican pop superstar continues to prove that beauty can be a powerful tool for social change: \u201cKim is a girl I love very much. I had the opportunity to meet her when we did a remix of the song ‘Te quiero un mont\u00f3n’ and she is a sweetheart. I’m so proud to be part of this campaign together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim and Danna will headline VIVA GLAM’s 30th anniversary campaign, which will celebrate the impact of the more than $520 million USD the project has raised to date, as well as highlight the revamped line of four lipstick shades: Viva Heart, Viva Planet, Viva Equality and Viva Empowered, which has become the Mexican artist’s favorite: \u201cI usually change depending on the time of year, I love a good bumpy lip, but now I’m obsessed with the Viva Empowered lipstick. I think it defines me completely, both in my album and the era I’m in which is basically something dark and dramatic; I think that defines me completely, so Viva Empowered is my favorite.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her passion when talking about the brand and her care routine confirm the close relationship she has with makeup: \u201cYes, I think it’s also an important part for me to express myself artistically and to be able to bring all my creative ideas to makeup,\u201d she says. Something that allows her to experiment with her make-up artist but also to fix a bad day: \u201cIt’s an interesting relationship, because, of course, I have a bad day and make-up really lifts my spirits. I also love, obviously, letting the skin breathe and being able to go as more skincare, but I always have to have at least my eyebrows done, mascara and lips. I may not use as much foundation when I’m on a day off, but what my lashes, lips and brows have to be in place.\u201d It’s something she likes and makes her feel good about herself: \u201cAnd as I say, in moments of no make up, I obviously take great care of my skin. But yes, I think makeup has a special place for me, it empowers me a lot,\u201d she concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
