{"id":458877,"date":"2024-07-08T13:31:47","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T11:31:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/?p=458877"},"modified":"2024-07-08T13:31:48","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T11:31:48","slug":"lua-de-santana-surprises-with-the-release-of-her-debut-ep-ginga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highxtar.com\/en\/lua-de-santana-surprises-with-the-release-of-her-debut-ep-ginga\/","title":{"rendered":"Lua de Santana surprises with the release of her debut EP &#8220;GINGA&#8221;."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The emerging half-Spanish, half-Brazilian artist raised in Vigo, Galicia and based in Madrid, continues her artistic development and her entry into the game with GINGA, an EP focused on the club scene that mixes soul, Brazilian funk, electronica, afrobeat, and what we would call hyper-funk, which, on the day of its release, quickly accumulated almost 200 thousand views on social networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Distributed by AWAL and available on all digital platforms since 28 June, &#8220;GINGA&#8221; has not only consolidated Lua de Santana as an emerging force in music, but has also positioned her on Spotify&#8217;s main playlists, such as Novedades Viernes, es funk y el cuerpo lo sabe (where she appears on the cover), and EQUAL. On Amazon Music, she has been featured on Flexeo (on the cover), Novedades Espa\u00f1a, Novedades Brasil and Corriente Alterna, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Lua de Santana, $kyhook - GiNGA (Official Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Yp6lPryZns4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With this EP of five tracks she represents part of the projection and work that has shaped her as an artist. She grew up listening to music from all over the world, from flamenco and reggae, to soul, bossa-nova, wango and reggaeton. She moved to London to train in singing and composition, as well as continuing her dance training. All this has meant that Lua de Santana has found her style in the fusion of all these sounds, instruments, musical genres and different languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actually, her name &#8220;GINGA&#8221; comes to make reference to this EP as a representative of my first steps, my 101, confusing whoever comes with a magical and unique jogo. <strong><em>&#8220;Given that Brazilian funk is a genre that is gaining a lot of popularity internationally, it seemed necessary and responsible to stay especially faithful to Portuguese as the main language for this first project and contact with the Spanish public or anyone who is not familiar with this important and vindicating genre&#8221;.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This EP reflects the dichotomy between reality and illusion, bringing messages with weight and depth to the stage of the trend, fusing the deep with the superficial and fun. <strong><em>&#8220;GINGA aims to be in some way a small expression of how I perceive part of reality in the current era through the exploration and unusual combinations of diverse musical elements in turn accompanied with lyrical themes that navigate between the interpersonal and the more intimate trying to convey feelings of duality, honour the beauty of resilience, allude to the volatility and brutality of life, and a nod to the dissociation so common we practice&#8221;.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Lua de Santana -
