London’s art scene has just received a monumental addition with the arrival of Yayoi Kusama’s latest public sculpture. Located outside Liverpool Street station, Infinite Accumulation is a work that reinterprets the iconic style of the Japanese artist. The piece is presented as a dynamic mass of metal orbs intertwined in twisted cables, a contemporary twist on her signature work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“London is a city in constant motion, a melting pot of cultures,” Kusama shared. “The spheres symbolise individual personalities, while the curves represent the social fabric that binds us together.” This reflection on diversity and human connection is embodied in the sculpture, which measures more than 10 metres, dominating the entrance to the recently opened Elizabeth Line of the metro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Infinite Accumulation not only marks a milestone in Kusama’s work, but also in London’s cultural history. The piece is part of a series of public art installations commissioned to celebrate the opening of the new transport line.
