If a few years ago Thomas Shelby’s undercut on Peaky Blinders was the trend-setter, now the focus is on a vintage trend, rescued directly from the 80’s: the perm. This look is back with a vengeance thanks to a new generation of celebrities who dare to challenge the norms of the \u2018traditional man\u2019. Actors such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Mescal, Jeremy Allen White, Austin Butler, Josh O’Connor and the unmistakable Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet have made it clear that there is no fear of the curl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its more modern versions, the perm has left behind the overdone, artificial aesthetic of the 70s and 80s. It is now a more precise, less aggressive and more natural process. The result: curls that give volume and texture without looking \u2018manufactured\u2019. The aim is to make hair look fresh and casual, a look that resonates with the \u2018soft boy\u2019 or \u2018babygirl\u2019 trend (which, in case you don’t know, is a popular TikTok meme).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
