Last Friday 24th January we discovered Kim Jones’ latest proposal in person, where she decided to expose his reflection on the power of masculine transformation.<\/h2>\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The event, as usual in men’s fashion shows, took place at the \u00c9cole Militaire<\/strong> in Paris<\/strong>, and brought together important international personalities including Gonzalo Aquerreta<\/a><\/strong>. We didn’t want to miss the occasion and we asked him about his relationship with the Maison, his chosen look for this special occasion and some of his favourite pieces from the collection\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HIGHXTAR (H) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> How did your relationship with Dior begin?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

GONZALO AQUERRETA (GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> My relationship with Dior began about four years ago, and it has been an incredible journey ever since. I have always been fascinated by the way the house fuses tradition and modernity, and to have had the opportunity to collaborate with them has been an honour throughout my career. From the very first moment, I felt a connection with their aesthetic and their way of reinterpreting geometry in their patterns that has a lot to do with my profession as an architect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(H) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> Is this your first show?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> Yes, and the truth is that it is an exciting experience. I’ve been collaborating with the brand for years, but experiencing a fashion show in the front row, seeing the pieces in motion and feeling the energy of the show is something totally different. It has been a very special moment for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(H) \u2013<\/mark>What does it mean to you to be here?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> Being here is a dream come true. For years I have followed Kim Jones’ work and the evolution of Dior Homme closely, and now to be able to witness it live is incredible. It’s a recognition of my career with the brand and an opportunity to immerse myself even more in its universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(H) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> Tell us about the look you have chosen for an important day like today.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> I chose a long grey coat with an asymmetric lapel because it has that mix of structure and fluidity that defines Dior’s style so well. Brown wool trousers for warmth and texture, and a Saddle crossbody that is both practical and iconic..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(H) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> In what ways do you identify with Kim Jones’ style and vision?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> I really identify with his way of reinterpreting masculine elegance. His work balances the classic and the contemporary, respecting Dior’s DNA but always with an innovative twist. Also, his way of incorporating cultural references and functional details into garments really resonates with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(H) \u2013<\/mark> A piece from the collection for everyday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> A black leather bomber jacket, without a doubt. It is a sober, sophisticated and modern garment, perfect for everyday wear because it combines elegance with a casual touch. In addition, it is versatile and easy to adapt to different styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(H) \u2013<\/mark> A piece from the collection for a special occasion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> Any of the pieces with embroidered details, for their level of detail and the craftsmanship behind each embroidery. Especially a grey wool parka with crystals embroidered on the shoulders. It has that balance between craftsmanship and contemporary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(H) \u2013<\/mark>  A must-have piece in your wardrobe.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(GA) \u2013<\/mark><\/strong> A Saddle. It’s versatile, practical and adds a touch of class to any look.<\/p>\n\n\n
