The 32nd edition of S\u00f3nar promises to be one of the most diverse and exciting in recent years. With more than 50 new acts on the programme, highlights include three-time Latin Grammy winner Nathy Peluso, who will bring her new album Grasa to Spain in a one-off performance, as well as a second presentation of her remix EP. Also joining the line-up is British-Gambian rapper Pa Salieu, who fuses rap, Afrobeat and Amapiano, and super-producer Alizzz, who will soundtrack his long-awaited new album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Catalan star Mushka will make his S\u00f3nar debut, bringing his sound to S\u00f3nar by Night, while Peruvian duo Dengue Dengue Dengue Dengue revitalise Andean rhythms. In addition, heavyweights of the electronic music scene, such as Berlin’s Dixon, four-handed sets by Skee Mask b2b Actress, Alinka b2b Shaun J. Wright, and an unprecedented collaboration between Dee Diggs and Free. Among the most eagerly awaited returns, Matthew Herbert will return to S\u00f3nar alongside multi-instrumentalist Momoko Gill with their collaborative project Herbert & Momoko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These names are joined by big names such as Plastikman, Arca, Polo & Pan, Eric Prydz, BICEP, Peggy Gou, Max Cooper, and Cora Novoa, as well as sessions by Four Tet, Vintage Culture, Helena Hauff, and four-handed sets by Skrillex b2b Blawan and Armin van Buuren b2b Indira Paganotto. Avant-garde shows such as Room with a View by Rone with his \u2018Choral Guitar\u2019 and performances by Maria Arnal, Tarta Relena and Samantha Hudson complete a line-up of the highest level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At S\u00f3nar by Day, three epic sunsets stand out: the young Brazilian star Mochakk (Thursday 12), the American DJ and producer Honey Dijon (Friday 13) and the British revivalist Overmono. In addition, co-productions will be presented with European festivals and cultural entities such as The Barbican in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
S\u00f3nar de Nit will have two new stages designed in collaboration with Boiler Room and Printworks London, where audiences will be able to enjoy music in an immersive and innovative environment. Boiler Room’s centre court will allow artists to be placed in the centre, offering a freer and closer experience for the audience, while Printworks’ vertical screen will elevate the atmosphere on the SonarLab stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
S\u00f3nar+D will focus this year on three main topics of conversation: AI + Creativity, which will explore the most innovative applications of artificial intelligence in creativity; Futuring the creative industries, which will address the prospects of the creative industries in 2030; and Worlds to come, where the worlds of the future will be imagined, from quantum computing to interstellar travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
S\u00f3nar Week will be held from 10 to 15 June, turning Barcelona into the global capital of music, innovation and creativity. In collaboration with the city’s leading cultural agents, OFFS\u00f3nar will bring together the most renowned labels and artists from the international club scene, such as Solid Grooves, elrow, and R\u00dcF\u00dcS DU SOL, at Poble Espanyol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 3rd edition of the +RAIN Film Festival will open the week with cinema generated by artificial intelligence. In addition, the edition will be inaugurated with a special concert at the Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana, performing works by Steve Reich and Raquel Garc\u00eda-Tom\u00e1s. New artistic proposals in the SonarMies cycle at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and other collaborations with entities in the city will also be announced soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
