In a twist that intertwines history, culture and the avant-garde, the creative director of Louis Vuitton<\/strong>‘s men’s line, positions himself at the epicentre of one of the most important events on the cultural and fashion calendar: the Met Gala 2025<\/strong>. This year, in addition to co-chairing the Costume Institute<\/strong>‘s most iconic charity event, Pharrell Williams<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> is once again elevating the aesthetic conversation with an endorsement that transcends the purely formal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Maison<\/em> is sponsoring the exhibition \u201cSuperfine: Tailoring Black Style\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, which will open its doors in spring 2025 at the Metropolitan<\/strong> Museum<\/strong> in New York<\/strong> and is articulated around the figure of the Black Dandy<\/em>: an aesthetic and political archetype that has embodied, generation after generation, the art of dressing as a tool for affirmation, empowerment and beauty. This reflection is intimately aligned with the vision that Pharrell<\/strong> has cultivated at LV<\/strong> since his arrival in 2024, where his collections have embodied values such as humanity, opportunity and the power of community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since his debut with the SS24<\/strong> collection, the creative has nurtured the masculine universe of the House with the LVERS<\/em><\/strong> philosophy – a global community united by good taste, savoir-faire<\/em> and mutual respect. It is in this vision that the spirit of the black dandy converges: style not as mere aesthetics, but as a means to stand out, to rewrite the narrative, to shine. That same narrative is projected onto the garments conceived for the Met Gala 2025<\/strong>: tailor-made pieces for the Maison<\/em>‘s guests, crafted in the most prestigious ateliers and touched by the hands of expert craftsmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this exercise in sartorial sublimation, men’s tailoring is transformed into sculpture: short jackets with noble lines, retro-inspired bell-bottoms, nods to the utility of workwear and the fluidity of sportswear, all sifted through an alchemy of references ranging from the 18th century to 80s hip-hop. The result? Garments loaded with symbolism, embroidered with pearls, gems and exquisite lace that rewrite the notion of luxury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, of course, the accessories: the iconic Speedy P9<\/strong>, Bandouli\u00e8re 10 <\/strong>cocktail bags, LV ButterSoft<\/strong> sneakers, LV Bubble<\/strong> loafers, and the most talked-about preview of next season – LV Jazz<\/strong> shoes – complete Pharrell<\/strong>‘s styling at the Gala. The designer will wear a look that sums up his vision of menswear: double-breasted cocktail jacket with pinstripe effect, black wool bell-bottom trousers and a Speedy P9 Bandouli\u00e8re<\/strong> in scarlet crocodile leather with antiqued gold Millionaire<\/strong> chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Louis Vuitton<\/strong>‘s support for this edition of the Gala and the Superfine<\/em><\/strong> exhibition also represents a tacit tribute to Virgil Abloh<\/strong>, who in 2018 and 2021 marked a before and after for the Maison<\/em>. His work foregrounded black cultural heritage and its influence on the contemporary canon, blazing a trail that Pharrell<\/strong> honours and continues, projecting a global vision of style as a universal language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
