Aur\u00e9lien Arbet and J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Egry presented the 27th collection at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tudes Studio<\/strong> literally delves into Surroundings<\/em>, focusing on Land Art<\/em> as an aesthetic and emotional lens. A way of narrating the passage of time on bodies, landscapes and garments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Far from proposing a nature-oriented collection, the brand proposes a system of visual and sensorial reading of the environment. Each piece becomes a fragment of emotional topography: there are footprints, wear and tear, texture. The bomber jackets with hoods, the trousers with detachable belts and the work suits allude to the uniform of the contemporary artist, as well as acting as a kind of second skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The staging proposes spiralling bodies, as in the works of Robert Smithson<\/strong>, accompanied by the organic sound of sculpture-instruments activated live by Am\u00e9lie Gould<\/strong>. There is an almost archaeological intention in this proposal. The fabrics – cotton poplin, open-knit mohair, ripstop, faded denim – appear worn or eroded, as if each of the designs had been buried, exposed and inhabited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the colour palette, \u00c9tudes Studio<\/strong> finds the perfect balance between studio and nature: ochres, blacks, blues and earthy browns that build a mineral imaginary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, we discovered an interesting collaboration with artist Maia Ruth Lee<\/strong>, who adds another layer of complexity to the narrative. With her explorations of memory, displacement and visual language, two of her series have been translated into garments that function as intimate maps. Embroidered phrases such as \u201cAlternatives are Possible\u201d<\/em> or \u201cSecond Nature\u201d<\/em> act as small windows into a larger discourse, a poetics of dress that speaks in visual code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
