Israel B doesn’t rest even in summer. \u2018La cabra\u2019 takes advantage of these hot days to present his new work, an EP in which the singer is more optimistic than in his previous works and adds new registers to his music. \u2018C\u00f3mo coronar a un rey sin cabeza\u2019 is a compendium of six songs in which Israel B tries out several different styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The album opens with \u2018Da igual\u2019, a song with trap instrumentals that, in Israel’s own words, “is an explosion of energy. Like \u00c1valon, they are two songs in which I talk about feeling good, that I’m not dependent on anyone and that I feel alive and strong. It’s weird because I almost always feel that way but I don’t reflect that in the music and I’m glad I got it right with these two, even though they each sound different on paper”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following song Ey Bae Bae “is that corner that we all have and that we only show to certain people at certain times. The connection you get to have with someone when that complicity is not public” explains the singer. Who changes tack with \u2018Tony Toca\u2019, “the most rapped song on the EP. It’s egotrip, it’s dotting the i’s, it’s showing that the simple is not so easy sometimes”. With a classic sample that they use as a wink to pay homage to Tony Touch and his song \u2018Ser\u00e1 Mejor\u2019 with Mucho Muchacho, who, as Israel himself pointed out, is one of the architects of the Spanish rap scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ep continues with \u2018Inmortal\u2019 in which the Chilean Aqua VS collaborates. A cut that Israel describes as follows: “to define this song I would say that it has a bit of the same vibes as Da Igual or \u00c1valon, but all said with a wider smile on my face. I think I manage to represent that I feel good, that I feel immortal (although there is only one immortal)”. After it comes \u00c1valon, a song that he considers \u2018Da Igual’s first sister\u2019, to finish the album with \u2018Calm Down\u2019. This song closes the album, and is one of the most introspective songs on the EP, explains the singer: \u2018this song is that moment that I keep for myself, where I describe the feeling that making music creates in me and how it is a refuge for me\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
