Sydney Sweeney<\/a> leaves behind her glamorous roles and steps into the boxing ring. The actress stars in Christy<\/strong><\/em>, the biographical film about boxing legend Christy Martin, set to premiere in September 2025 at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directed by David Mich\u00f4d and co-written with Mirrah Foulkes, the film explores both Martin\u2019s boxing career and her personal history marked by domestic violence. In addition to playing the lead role, Sweeney also produces the project <\/strong>through her company Fifty-Fifty Films. Christy Martin herself has been directly involved in the development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
