Ellis testified that the incident took place in 2018<\/strong>, when the rapper was attending a medical appointment at a Beverly Hills clinic while pregnant. According to her testimony in court, Cardi B became upset after being recognised in the lift and, following an exchange, allegedly insulted her, spat at her, and cut her face with a fingernail measuring around five to seven centimetres.<\/strong> She also claimed that the artist tried to hit her, humiliated her with comments about her appearance, and used racist language. Ellis maintains that the injury required plastic surgery and described the episode as \u201ctraumatising.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardi B\u2019s <\/a>defence team denied all the allegations.<\/strong> The artist stated that she never touched or spat at Ellis and rejected the use of racist slurs. She asserted that it was only a verbal dispute, triggered because Ellis was filming her without permission. She even showed the judge the length of her nails to dispute that she could have caused the alleged cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardi B\u2019s<\/a> lawyers also challenged the consistency of Ellis\u2019s account, pointing out differences between her testimony in court and the report<\/strong> she had given her then-manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
