As part of Art Basel Paris 2025<\/strong>, Louis Vuitton<\/strong> presents the seventh edition of its Artycapucines<\/strong><\/em> series, created under the unmistakable imagination of the great Takashi Murakami<\/strong>. Together, they offer a total experience where the boundaries between installation, sculpture and fashion are completely blurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Balcon d’Honneur of the <\/strong>Grand<\/strong> Palais<\/strong><\/a>, the artist displays a monumental installation: a nine-metre-high octopus, whose lights, textures and tentacles transform the space into an immersive setting. Inspired by Chinese lanterns, the cephalopod becomes a metaphor for his own hypnotic, entertaining and, at times, even disturbing universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His luminous head displays the iconic Superflat Jellyfish Eyes<\/em> motif, created in 2001, a symbol of the gaze and childhood fear that the Japanese artist transforms into something kind, almost tender. The Kraken<\/em>, another of his favourite motifs, reappears here as an ambivalent figure: monster and muse, chaos and colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under his tentacles, eleven Capucines<\/strong> bags reinterpret the House’s savoir-faire through pop aesthetics. From Mr. DOB <\/em>to Smiling Flowers<\/em> and Superflat Panda, the Artycapucines VII collection \u2013 Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami<\/strong> celebrates the dialogue between contemporary art and artisanal heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n

The exhibition is structured around three Plush Balls<\/em>, three-dimensional plush sculptures that the artist has been exploring since the 1990s. Among them, the new Cherry Blossom Plush Ball<\/em><\/strong> (2025) pays tribute to the sakura flower, an emblem of ephemeral beauty and rebirth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stars of this capsule collection\u2014the Capucines BB Golden Garden<\/em>, the Capusplit BB<\/em>, the Capucines Mini Autograph<\/em> and the Panda Clutch<\/em>\u2014reaffirm Murakami<\/strong>‘s playful and exquisite vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
