She will also join the production team. This marks her first leading role in a major Hollywood studio film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project represents an important step in her transition to film. Carpenter pitched the idea to Universal over a year ago, and her proposal attracted a high-profile creative team. The film will be written and directed by<strong> Lorene Scafaria<\/strong>, known for <em>Hustlers<\/em> and her work on <em>Succession<\/em>.
