Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid is expanding its next edition to five days. The event will take place from 18 to 22 March 2026<\/strong>, adding an extra day to the calendar announced weeks ago and confirming the participation of 30 designers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, the organisation had already announced a change of dates, setting the event from 18 to 21 March. The aim was to avoid clashes with other European fashion weeks and to gain greater visibility among the press and buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, MBFW Madrid is taking a further step by extending its duration in order to include more proposals within the official programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Higher demand and strong creative level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to the organisers, the decision responds to a \u201crecord\u201d number of applications, as well as to the particularly high creative standard of the projects submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this new format, the runway will be able to structure a broader programme, in which the Autumn\/Winter 2026\/2027<\/strong> collections will be presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A repositioning strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The event is organised by Ifema Madrid, with the support of Madrid City Council. Within the same edition, the fashion week is therefore implementing two key changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, its creative director, Valentina Su\u00e1rez-Zuloaga<\/strong>, explained that the new calendar allowed more time for preparation and helped to build a distinct identity for the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Asier Labarga<\/strong>, director of MBFW Madrid since April, framed the redesign as part of a strategy to reposition the platform. The focus is on strengthening its ties with the industry and promoting actions with a real impact on business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
