This is exactly what has happened with Louis Vuitton<\/strong>‘s Monogram<\/strong>, a tribute to the founder of the Maison<\/em>, which will celebrate its 130th anniversary in 2026. To celebrate, the House has decided to take a look back at its legacy and project it into the future through a series of collections, activations and special window displays that will be rolled out over the next 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its creation, the Monogram<\/strong> has established itself as a universal symbol of distinction, a visual code that encapsulates history, craftsmanship and innovation. Conceived as a pioneering idea, Georges Vuitton<\/strong> personally designed the pattern and registered the patent for this composition of intertwined LV <\/strong>initials and floral motifs, inspired by both neo-Gothic ornamentation and Japonism. His goal was clear: to protect the authenticity of the House’s creations from copies, following the path begun with the striped canvas of 1872 and the Damier<\/strong> of 1888. The result was an emblem that embodied a philosophy of excellence, modernity and transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest is history. Generations of creators, collectors and cultural icons have been accompanied by the Monogram<\/strong>. It has also guided the hands of Louis Vuitton<\/strong>‘s master craftsmen, been reinterpreted by creative geniuses\u2014Marc Jacobs<\/strong>, Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re<\/strong>, Virgil<\/strong> Abloh<\/strong> and Pharrell Williams<\/strong>\u2014and served as a canvas for iconic collaborations with artists such as Takashi Murakami<\/a><\/strong>, Yayoi Kusama<\/strong> and Richard Prince<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting in January 2026, Louis Vuitton<\/strong> will officially kick off its anniversary year by paying tribute to its most iconic Monogram<\/strong> bags. These authentic masterpieces from the Maison<\/em>‘s heritage include the Speedy<\/strong> (1930), which redefined the idea of personal mobility; the Keepall<\/strong> (1930), a symbol of freedom and the art of travel; the No\u00e9<\/strong> (1932), originally created to carry five bottles of champagne and now an icon of creativity and joie de vivre<\/em>; the Alma<\/strong> (1992), with its structural elegance inspired by Parisian architecture; and the Neverfull<\/strong> (2007), the essential modern companion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The anniversary also brings with it the Monogram Anniversary<\/em><\/strong> collection, a range that revisits the codes of savoir-faire of historic trunks through three special edition bags, combining contemporary design, select and varied materials, and meticulous craftsmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Added to this is Monogram Origine<\/em><\/strong>, featuring a new jacquard canvas made from a blend of linen and cotton, presented in a delicate pastel colour palette. The collection takes its inspiration from the cover of an old customer register from the archives, connecting directly with the living memory of the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
