She has become the performer with the highest total box office earnings in cinema history. In large part, this came from <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9UqIIjT-zcU\">Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which has passed $1.23 billion since its release in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the <em>Avatar<\/em> saga has played a central role in this achievement. The films in the franchise have earned nearly $5.6 billion worldwide. As a result, Salda\u00f1a has moved ahead of major figures in modern commercial cinema such as <strong>Scarlett Johansson<\/strong> and <strong>Samuel L. Jackson<\/strong>, with whom she previously shared the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, her filmography includes several of the most successful titles ever made. She appeared in<strong> <em>Avatar<\/em> and <em>Avatar: The Way of Wate<\/em><\/strong><em>r<\/em>, two of the highest-grossing films of all time. In addition, she was part of <em><strong>Avengers: Endgame<\/strong><\/em> and <em>Avengers: Infinity War<\/em>. Because of this, she became the first actress to appear in four films that each earned more than $2 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"h-beyond-avatar-and-marvel\">Beyond Avatar and Marvel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Salda\u00f1a\u2019s success is not limited to these franchises. As Nyota Uhura in <em>Star Trek<\/em>, she also took part in a series that earned more than $1 billion worldwide. By then, in 2024, the films she had appeared in had already generated over $14 billion globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, her box office success was matched by critical recognition. In 2025, she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for <em>Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em>.
