On 30 January, the most important shop, the one that started it all, will close its doors.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located on Juan Fl\u00f3rez<\/strong> Street<\/strong> in A Coru\u00f1a<\/strong>, Inditex<\/strong>‘s ground zero opened its doors on 9 May 1975<\/strong>, when Amancio Ortega<\/strong> began building his empire. Fifty years later, that same space has been the altar of a global celebration that throughout 2025 turned Zara<\/strong>‘s anniversary into an international choreography of activations, capsule collections and storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boutique reopened as \u201cEl Apartamento\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, the brand<\/a><\/strong>‘s most ambitious concept to date: fashion, design, caf\u00e9, bookshop and unique pieces in a space of just 300 square metres inspired by the glass-covered galleries of the port of A Coru\u00f1a<\/strong>. A sensory experience that resembled a luxury showroom more than a fast fashion store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon, doubts began to arise about what would happen when the celebrations ended. Either it would return to its original format or it would become Zara<\/strong>‘s definitive concept store. But Inditex<\/strong> has decided to opt for another narrative: to close the original store. On 30 January<\/strong>, after half a century of uninterrupted activity, the store will say goodbye. Employees will be relocated to other stores in the city, mainly to the flagship store on Calle Compostela, which is regaining its position with more than 2,400 square metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it is not all farewells. The following day, 31 January<\/strong>, will see the opening of the first Zacaff\u00e8<\/strong> in A Coru\u00f1a<\/strong>. The second in Spain<\/strong>. A caf\u00e9 with independent access from Plaza de la<\/strong> Mina<\/strong> that confirms the direction in which the brand is moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
