The Virgil Abloh Archive has officially announced the launch of The Virgil Reader Vol. 001<\/strong><\/em>, its first printed publication, alongside a free public membership programme that will allow fans, students and creatives to access part of the vast creative universe left behind by the designer. Both initiatives are led by Shannon Abloh<\/strong> \u2013 his wife \u2013 who continues to develop the mission of opening the archive while keeping alive the collaborative spirit that defined the creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally presented during the \u201cThe Codes\u201d<\/em> exhibition in Paris<\/a><\/strong>, the archive gathers more than 20,000 objects from Abloh\u2019s multidisciplinary career. These include fashion prototypes, original sketches, digital material and even pieces from his personal library. Altogether, the collection reflects the way Abloh understood creativity: as an open process in constant dialogue with contemporary culture and the community around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That philosophy now translates into the editorial format with The Virgil Reader Vol. 001<\/strong><\/em>, a publication that works as an entry point into the designer\u2019s way of thinking. The book compiles key interviews and features originally published in outlets such as 032c<\/em>, The Business of Fashion<\/em> and System Magazine<\/em><\/strong>, preserving their original layouts and design. Featuring a foreword by i-D<\/em> editor Thom Bettridge, the volume explores the ideas, cultural references and design processes that defined Abloh\u2019s creative practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the book, the archive has also launched a free membership programme<\/a><\/strong> offering access to digital excerpts from the publication, official newsletters and priority access to future releases and events. To celebrate the launch, the Virgil Abloh Archive will host a special two-day activation in Los Angeles on 14 and 15 March 2026<\/strong>, featuring talks, readings and screenings centred around Abloh\u2019s creative universe and what lies ahead for the archive. A new way to keep opening doors \u2014 just as he always intended \u2014 and to invite the global community to continue building upon his ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
