The final episode of the third series, entitled \u201cThis Little Piggy\u201d<\/em>, features one of the most talked-about and debated scenes in the entire series.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a recent interview, Sam Levinson<\/strong> revealed that building the models used for the scene in which a giant version of Cassie<\/strong> (played by Sydney<\/strong> Sweeney<\/strong><\/a>) walks through Los Angeles<\/strong> took around a year of work. It took all that time to bring to life a visual fantasy inspired by both the kaiju<\/em> universe of Godzilla<\/strong> and the 1958 cult film The Attack of the 50-Foot Woman<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many fans of the series have already dubbed this moment \u201cCassie-zilla\u201d<\/em>, amazed by the giant version of the character parading amongst miniature replicas of Hollywood<\/strong> and DTLA<\/strong>. To achieve this effect, the production team opted for enormous physical models which, as director of photography Marcell R\u00e9v<\/strong> explained, were divided into \u2018three or four larger pieces\u2019 <\/em>that could be rotated to alter the perspective of the set, in addition to digital effects, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a behind-the-scenes video shared by HBO<\/strong>, Sydney<\/strong> says that this moment was \u201cprobably the coolest thing\u201d <\/em>she\u2019s done on Euphoria<\/strong><\/em>. And that is precisely where the great debate surrounding this third season\u2014the most controversial to date\u2014lies. Both critics and social media are deeply divided between those who believe Sam Levinson<\/strong> has elevated the series into a more experimental experience and those who believe it has ended up becoming a sort of meme of itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
