He will now join the brand owned by LVMH. The designer will unveil his first collections for both men and women in February 2020 during the Paris Men&#8217;s Fashion Week FW20. Humberto Leon and Carol Lim left KENZO after eight years to concentrate on Opening Ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Sylvie Colin, CEO of KENZO, told\u00a0<em>WWD<\/em>, <em><strong>\u201cWhat made us choose Felipe above other candidates is the fact that he has a global artistic approach\u2026 He has a 360-degree creative vision and will oversee artistic direction globally, dealing both with collections and communication.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201c<em><strong>Felipe\u2019s style is very compatible with our DNA\u2026 It\u2019s about a certain daily sophistication, silhouettes that are both chic and sporty, which is pretty much the essence of KENZO.<\/strong><\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">LVMH fashion group chairman and CEO Sidney Toledano said in a statement, \u201c<em><strong>Felipe\u2019s<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><em><strong><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\"> talent as a designer, his expertise <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">in\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">clothing and his personal attachment to diverse cultures\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">will be valuable<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">assets\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">in rejuvenating the<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">\u00a0creative energy at\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\">the m<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em><span class=\"s13\"><span class=\"bumpedFont20\"><em><strong>aison.<\/strong><\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now we just have to wait until next year to see what Baptist is up to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KENZO has just announced that Felipe Oliveira Baptista will be its new creative director.
