A Martin Parr Foundation, em Bristol, presta homenagem a um dos trabalhos mais influentes da fotografia contempor\u00e2nea. F\u00e1-lo com uma exposi\u00e7\u00e3o especial que celebra os 40 anos de The Last Resort<\/em>, a s\u00e9rie que lan\u00e7ou a carreira internacional do fot\u00f3grafo brit\u00e2nico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mostra assinala quatro d\u00e9cadas desde a sua estreia na Serpentine Gallery, em Londres, e desde a sua autoedi\u00e7\u00e3o em 1986. As imagens foram realizadas entre 1983 e 1985 na est\u00e2ncia balnear de New Brighton, em Merseyside. Nelas, Parr retrata com ironia o quotidiano da classe trabalhadora brit\u00e2nica durante a era Thatcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considerada uma obra essencial na hist\u00f3ria da fotografia documental, The Last Resort<\/em> rompeu com a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o do preto e branco. Parr apostou em cores saturadas e no uso do flash em plena luz do dia. O resultado foi uma est\u00e9tica hiper-real que redefiniu o g\u00e9nero. A exposi\u00e7\u00e3o re\u00fane as 40 fotografias ic\u00f3nicas da s\u00e9rie. Entre elas, destacam-se a de um beb\u00e9 a brincar junto a m\u00e1quinas de divers\u00e3o e a de um casal visivelmente aborrecido num restaurante de tons pastel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O processo criativo a descoberto<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Para al\u00e9m das c\u00f3pias finais, a mostra convida a conhecer o processo criativo do fot\u00f3grafo. Est\u00e3o expostas folhas de contacto originais, convites de imprensa e cr\u00edticas publicadas nos anos 80. Ser\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m poss\u00edvel ver a c\u00e2mara Plaubel Makina 67 com a qual Parr realizou a s\u00e9rie, fundamental para alcan\u00e7ar o detalhe do formato m\u00e9dio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Com esta exposi\u00e7\u00e3o, a Martin Parr Foundation revisita uma obra fundamental. Ao mesmo tempo, valoriza o legado de um fot\u00f3grafo que mudou a forma de olhar para o quotidiano. No banal, Parr encontrou um reflexo mordaz e profundamente humano da sociedade brit\u00e2nica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
